    Abstract: Introduced here are multi-server sleds that include multiple card slots for receiving modular cards. Pairs of card slots can be connected to one another via a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) bus. However, communication via the PCIe bus may only be permitted when the pair of card slots includes modular cards of different types (e.g., a server card and a device card). Card type can be established by looking at the voltage available on a single pin of the PCIe bus corresponding to a modular card, and/or parsing system information stored within a memory of the modular card. This is enabled by a baseboard management controller (BMC) that communicates with the modular card via a bridge integrated circuit (IC) interface. Software-implemented modifications to the standard PCIe pin assignments may be made to avoid permitting communication between modular cards of the same type.

    Abstract: The present invention, high efficiency flipping window-bridge air conditioners and heat pumps, generally relates to air conditioners and beat pumps. It follows the same operating theory as that of ductless mini-split air conditioners and heat pumps currently on the market. The main advantages of the current invention are high efficiency and easy installation. What is invented is that an indoor unit and an outdoor unit are linked via a frame as one package before the package is mounted and installed in a window opening. The outdoor unit is flexibly connected to the frame by joints and bars; thereby, the outdoor unit is flipped from a horizontal position to a downward vertical position and vice versa, and remain secured in the downward vertical position. The indoor unit is slidably connected to the frame by sliding chutes.

    Abstract: A combination of high efficiency ductless air conditioners and heat pumps installed in a window opening. A metal frame, mounted over the sill like a bridge, structurally links an indoor unit and outdoor unit. Flexible tubing inside the frame operationally connects the units. The outdoor unit is flexibly connected to the frame so it can be “flipped” 90 degrees from a horizontal position to a downward vertical position and vice versa. Thereby the length of the outdoor unit is not limited by the dimensions of the window opening. Hence the outdoor unit can have a large condenser and coils with large surface to achieve high efficiency. The indoor unit is slidably connected to the frame so it can be slided towards or away from the outdoor unit. The frame is secured to the window opening via a security bar. The indoor unit further enhances efficiency through 3-side air return.
