  • Patent number: 8793714
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods for excluding specific application traffic from customer consumption-based data billing counts. This is useful for excluding traffic from consumption totals where the application traffic has been accounted for using other means, such as through billing as a separate or technically distinct service. In practice, a tablet computer (or other end user device) can run a video application that uses a high-speed data network via a cable modem. This video application may be included as part of a core video package associated with a distinct cable television service. The system then provides accurate consumption billing of customer traffic that is outside of any other managed services by creating separate logical data service flows at a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) for excluding specific traffic counts.

  • Patent number: 8792656
Abstract: An all in one (AIO) computer implemented as a personal computer (PC) or a display includes a high definition multimedia interface, a speaker, and a speaker control circuit. The speaker control circuit includes an earphone interface circuit, a main controller, a signal processing unit, and a signal control circuit. The earphone interface circuit detects whether an earphone is inserted into the AIO computer. When the earphone interface circuit detects the earphone is connected to the AIO computer, if the AIO computer is implemented as the PC, the main controller sends a first muting signal. If the AIO computer is implemented as the display, the main controller sends a second muting signal, and the signal control circuit controls and mutes the speaker according to the first muting signal and the second muting signal.

  • Patent number: 8793656
Abstract: A selection method and related application is provided for a framework-based application having programming applications with both language program files and configuration files. In one embodiment, the method comprises abstracting a frame configuration model instance by analyzing configuration files prior to any modifications made to the program. The frame configuration model instance denoting individual configuration nodes in the framework model and further defining relationship between one or more code units in the configuration nodes and program code units in the application. Then one or more control test cases are constructed by profiling select test cases of the application, wherein the control flow consists of code units traversed during test case execution and control flow of said code units. Subsequently, an extended control flow is obtained by correlating configuration nodes in the framework configuration model instance with the code units in said control flow.

  • Patent number: 8793667
Abstract: An analysis tool analyzes a software system by simulating runtime binding in order to identify function-level code dependencies. The tool receives a list of one or more entry point functions and identifies other functions that can be invoked if the entry point functions are executed. The tool generates a tracker graph having tracker nodes representing classes that can be instantiated from the entry points. Each tracker node identifies functions/methods in that class that can be invoked from the entry points. If the software system uses an object-relational mapping to a database, the tracker graph also identifies the portions of the database that can be accessed from the entry points. The tool can be used to partition the functionalities of the software system into core and non-core functionalities in order to support upgrading while maintaining high-availability.

  • Publication number: 20140205302
Abstract: The present invention utilizes a high-speed serial data transceiver to generate two high-speed electric pulse signals. After passing through a gain network, the signals are used for driving an electro-optic phase modulator (PM) so as to realize phase modulation of photon signals. The present invention may directly use a high-speed digital signal to realize a four-phase modulation function needed by the BB84 quantum key distribution protocol without using a digital to analog converter or an analog switch. This can prevent modulation rate from being restricted by links including digital-to-analogue conversion, switching of the analogue and the like. A dual-electrode electro-optic phase modulator scheme can also effectively reduce requirements for amplitude of a modulation driving signal, thus facilitating realization of high-speed phase modulation, which meets requirements of quantum key distribution.
