  • Patent number: 11526589
Abstract: A wearable device includes an audio system. In one embodiment, the audio system includes a sensor array that includes a plurality of acoustic sensors. When a user wears the wearable device, the audio system determines an acoustic transfer function for the user based upon detected sounds within a local area surrounding the sensor array. Because the acoustic transfer function is based upon the size, shape, and density of the user's body (e.g., the user's head), different acoustic transfer functions will be determined for different users. The determined acoustic transfer functions are compared with stored acoustic transfer functions of known users in order to authenticate the user of the wearable device.

  • Patent number: 11528249
Abstract: Devices in enterprise-scale networks are often tracked by asset catalogs that record the physical locations of respective devices. Such tracking often involves administratively heavy communication of device deployment, and communication or recording errors may lead to missing catalog entries or entries that incorrectly identify the physical locations of the devices. Instead, a MAC address encoding may be established that maps physical locations to particular MAC addresses, such as representing a building, floor, room, row, and rack of a device in the second through sixth MAC address octets. A locator device with a network adapter featuring a selected MAC address that encodes a particular physical address may be inserted into a network device at the physical location. The physical location of the network device may thereafter be queried for the MAC addresses of connected devices, and the selected MAC address may be translated into the physical location of the network device.

  • Patent number: 11524390
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of manufacturing a chemical mechanical polishing (CMP polishing) layer for polishing substrates, such as semiconductor wafers comprising providing a composition of a plurality of liquid-filled microelements having a polymeric shell; classifying the composition via centrifugal air classification to remove fines and coarse particles and to produce liquid-filled microelements having a density of 800 to 1500 g/liter; and, forming the CMP polishing layer by (i) converting the classified liquid-filled microelements into gas-filled microelements by heating them, then mixing them with a liquid polymer matrix forming material and casting or molding the resulting mixture to form a polymeric pad matrix, or (ii) combining the classified liquid-filled microelements directly with the liquid polymer matrix forming material, and casting or molding.

  • Patent number: 11525909
Abstract: A measurement method performed at a receiving device involves sequentially receiving RF signals, each comprising a different set of at least first and second tones at differing frequencies. Complex gain responses (CGRs) for each of the first and second tones of each of the RF signals are measured. A phase offset is determined between: i) a phase of the CGR of the second tone of a first RF signal, and ii) a phase of the CGR of the first tone of a second RF signal. A coherent channel frequency (CCF) response of the second tone of the second RF signal is computed by adjusting a phase of the CGR of the second tone of the first RF signal by the phase offset. A processor executes a signal paths calculation algorithm using the CCF response of the second tone of the second RF signal to determine an angle or time of arrival of the first RF signal.

  • Patent number: 11527110
Abstract: An example method involves receiving, at a computing system, vehicle diagnostic information from a vehicle. The vehicle diagnostic information may include one or more sets of parameters corresponding to parameter identifiers (PIDs). The method further involves identifying a first set of parameters corresponding to a PID representing a state of a particular system of the vehicle and determining, using the first set of parameters, a current value of the PID. The method may also involve performing a comparison between the current value and a predetermined value for the PID and determining a health of the particular system of the vehicle such that the health reflects a difference between the current value and the predetermined value for the PID. The method may also involve displaying, by the computing system at a graphical interface, a vehicle health record representing the health of the particular system of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11526240
Abstract: An input device such as a stylus for providing input to a touch-sensitive surface with reduced sensitivity to leakage current variations over temperature is disclosed. A passive stylus may include one or more diodes in parallel with one or more bleed resistors. The non-linear load of the diode and resistor network can be operative to provide a stylus electric field in response to a stimulation signal from an electronic device that can be capacitively coupled to, and sensed by, the electronic device. The signal sensed by the electronic device can be a function of the total leakage current, which can vary greatly as a function of temperature and frequency. In order to improve performance, the diode and resistor network, including the bleed resistor(s) and diodes within that network, can be selected and/or designed to provide a reduced variation in the leakage current and more accurate stylus detection.
