  • Publication number: 20220392342
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for generating a vehicle-to-vehicle traffic alert and updating a vehicle-usage profile. Various aspects include detecting, via one or more processors associated with a first vehicle, that an abnormal traffic condition exists in an operating environment of the first vehicle. An electronic message is generated and transmitted wirelessly, via a vehicle-mounted transceiver associated with the first vehicle, to alert a nearby vehicle of the abnormal traffic condition and to allow the nearby vehicle to avoid the abnormal traffic condition. The first vehicle receives telematics data regarding operation of the nearby vehicle after the nearby vehicle received the electronic message, and transmits the telematics data to a remote server for updating a vehicle-usage profile associated with the nearby vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220392179
Abstract: Appearance driven automatic three-dimensional (3D) modeling enables optimization of a 3D model comprising the shape and appearance of a particular 3D scene or object. Triangle meshes and shading models may be jointly optimized to match the appearance of a reference 3D model based on reference images of the reference 3D model. Compared with the reference 3D model, the optimized 3D model is a lower resolution 3D model that can be rendered in less time. More specifically, the optimized 3D model may include fewer geometric primitives compared with the reference 3D model. In contrast with the conventional inverse rendering or analysis-by-synthesis modeling tools, the shape and appearance representations of the 3D model are automatically generated that, when rendered, match the reference images.

  • Publication number: 20220387078
Abstract: A jointed rod assembly for use in a spinal fixation construct involves a caudal rod portion connectable to an adjustment mechanism, and a cranial rod portion connectable to the adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism is configured to rotate the caudal and cranial rod portions relative to one another about a joint axis that is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the caudal and cranial rod portions. The caudal and cranial rod portions may be dimensioned to be compatible with other pieces of hardware commonly used for spinal fixation, such as bone anchors (e.g., pedicle screws), occipital plates, reducers, and others. The caudal and cranial rod portions are composed of a strong, rigid, non-absorbable, biocompatible material. The jointed rod assembly may be advantageously used in spinal fixation systems and methods of spinal fixation.

  • Publication number: 20220392160
Abstract: Systems and methods enable optimization of a 3D model representation comprising the shape and appearance of a particular 3D scene or object. The opaque 3D mesh (e.g., vertex positions and corresponding topology) and spatially varying material attributes are jointly optimized based on image space losses to match multiple image observations (e.g., reference images of the reference 3D scene or object). A geometric topology defines faces and/or cells in the opaque 3D mesh that are visible and may be randomly initialized and optimized through training based on the image space losses. Applying the geometry topology to an opaque 3D mesh for learning the shape improves accuracy of silhouette edges and performance compared with using transparent mesh representations. In contrast with approaches that require an initial guess for the topology and/or an exhaustive testing of possible geometric topologies, the 3D model representation is learned based on image space differences without requiring an initial guess.
