  • Patent number: 7864764
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for reducing response times to retrieve content in an intermediate network device. In particular, the intermediate network device receives a packet from a client device of a first network that requests content from a remote network device of a second network, inspects the packet to determine whether the requested content has been previously cached to either of a first and a second memory of the device, issues a request to load the requested content from the second memory to the first memory based on the determination and queues the packet within in the queue. After queuing the packet, the intermediate network device then processes the packet to assemble a response that includes the content from the memory.

  • Patent number: 7863080
Abstract: Dichlorosilane and diborane are deposited on the titanium-based alloy film to grow a p+ type back surface field film. The temperature is raised to grow a p? type light-soaking film on the p+ type back surface field film. Phosphine is deposited on the p? type light-soaking film to form an n+ type emitter. Thus, an n+-p?-p+ laminate is provided on the titanium-based alloy film. SiCNO:Ar plasma is used to passivate the n+-p?-p+ laminate, thus forming an anti-reflection film of SiCN/SiO2 on the n+ type emitter. The n+-p?-p+ laminate is etched in a patterned mask process. A p? type ohmic contact is formed on the titanium-based alloy film. The anti-reflection film is etched in a patterned mask process. The n+ type emitter is coated with a titanium/palladium/silver alloy film that is annealed in hydrogen. An n? type ohmic contact is formed on the n+ type emitter.

  • Patent number: 7865809
Abstract: Data error detection and correction in non-volatile memory devices are disclosed. Data error detection and correction can be performed with software, hardware or a combination of both. Generally an error corrector is referred to as an ECC (error correction code). One of the most relevant codes using in non-volatile memory devices is based on BCH (Bose, Ray-Chaudhuri, Hocquenghem) code. In order to correct reasonable number (e.g., up to 8-bit (eight-bit)) of random errors in a chunk of data (e.g., a codeword of 4200-bit with 4096-bit information data), a BCH(4200,4096,8) is used in GF(213). ECC comprises encoder and decoder. The decoder further comprises a plurality of error detectors and one error corrector. The plurality of error decoders is configured for calculating odd terms of syndrome polynomial for multiple channels in parallel, while the error corrector is configured for sequentially calculating even terms of syndrome polynomial, key solver and error location.

An electronic device having a quasi-passive wakeup function includes a receiver for receiving at least one stimulus signal, a comparator for comparing the received signal to a predetermined signal, and at least one logic gate for waking up the electronic device when the received stimulus signal is the predetermined signal. In one application, identification tags are used to distinguish a unique tagged item from among a plurality of items with a similar appearance. When an interrogation signal is not present, the tags sleep at a very low power level.

  • Patent number: 7863193
Abstract: Post-laser annealing dopant deactivation is minimized by performing certain silicide formation process steps prior to laser annealing. A base metal layer is deposited on the source-drain regions and the gate electrode, followed by deposition of an overlying compression cap layer, to prevent metal agglomeration at the silicon melting temperature. Thereafter, a rapid thermal process is performed to heat the substrate sufficiently to form metal silicide contacts at the top surfaces of the source-drain regions and of the gate electrode. The method further includes removing the remainder of the metal-containing layer and then depositing an optical absorber layer over the substrate prior to laser annealing near the silicon melting temperature.

  • Patent number: 7865630
Abstract: A Multi-Media Card/Secure Digital (MMC/SD) single-chip flash device contains a MMC/SD flash microcontroller and flash mass storage blocks containing flash memory arrays that are block-addressable rather than randomly-addressable. MMC/SD transactions from a host MMC/SD bus are read by a bus transceiver on the MMC/SD flash microcontroller. Various routines that execute on a CPU in the MMC/SD flash microcontroller are activated in response to commands in the MMC/SD transactions. A flash-memory controller in the MMC/SD flash microcontroller transfers data from the bus transceiver to the flash mass storage blocks for storage. Rather than boot from an internal ROM coupled to the CPU, a boot loader is transferred by DMA from the first page of the flash mass storage block to an internal RAM. The flash memory is automatically read from the first page at power-on. The CPU then executes the boot loader from the internal RAM to load the control program.

  • Patent number: 7864906
Abstract: A system (101) for clock signal synchronization includes a data analyzer (104) and a synchronized clock signal generator (105) coupled to an RC oscillator (103). The data analyzer (104) generates a digital control signal representing the number of cycles of a reference signal of the RC oscillator (103) during an eight-bit period of an incoming token packet. The synchronized signal clock generator (105) uses the digital control signal to lock a clock signal to packets that have the same bit rate as the token packet.

  • Patent number: 7865041
Abstract: To determine if a pixel exhibits artifacts, statistics are generated for the pixel and its neighbors. These statistics are compared with thresholds. If the comparison of the statistics and the thresholds suggests that the pixel exhibits a pixel artifact, then recourse can be taken, either to adjust the pixel value in some way, or to reject the angle of interpolation used in computing the value for the target pixel.

  • Patent number: 7863895
Abstract: A system, program product, and method to determine water, fat, and transverse relaxation time constants in MRI scanning are provided. A method includes initiating readout gradient pulses to collect echo signals with identical phase encoded gradients to thereby produce a plurality of images, instead of a single image with a single readout gradient. A receiver bandwidth used for collecting the echo signals can be determined responsive to an acquisition matrix size along the readout axis and a time duration for water and fat signals to evolve by a preselected phase angle. In a modified FSE implementation, for example, a method includes using readout gradient pulses that use substantially all of the echo spacing time periods between successive refocus RF pulses. By exploiting the phase and the amplitude relationship between the images, the method can include processing the images to generate separate water and fat images, as well as quantitative maps of transverse relaxation time constants.
