  • Patent number: 11310765
Abstract: A user's set top box detects the ringing of a telephone, mobile device or other type of audible notification of an incoming call or message and, in response, sends a command causing a current audio level of the television programming or other media currently being played to decrease such that the audible notification can be heard by the user. A device silencing manager on the set top box may detect the audible notification occurring by the sound waves of the audible notification from the mobile device picked up by a microphone of the receiving device. Additionally or alternatively, a device silencing manager on the set top box may wirelessly receive, either directly or indirectly from the mobile device, an electronic notification of the audible notification.

  • Patent number: 11307570
Abstract: A predictive maintenance server receives data from sensors of equipment. The server uses one or more machine learning models to assign an anomaly score. Responsive to the anomaly score exceeding a threshold value, the server may issue an alert. The machine learning model may be supervised or unsupervised. In one embodiment, the machine learning model use several sensor channels to predict the values of one or more vitals of the equipment and compare the predicted values to the actual measured values of the vitals. The server may assign an anomaly score based on the differences between the predicted values and the measured values. In one embodiment, the machine learning model may be an autoencoder that generates a distribution of the measurement values to determine the likelihood of observing the actual measured values in a normal operation. In one embodiment, the server may use a histogram approach to predict anomaly.

  • Patent number: 11309965
Abstract: An optical filter comprises an array of waveguides fabricated on an optical integrated circuit (PIC). The array comprises individual waveguides, each of which receive light inputs, e.g., individual taps of a multi-tap optical filter used in an interference cancellation circuit. Typically, the output(s) of the individual waveguides are located at an exit (edge) of the PIC. At least one second waveguide in the array is patterned on the PIC in a converged configuration such that the light transiting these waveguides co-propagates and interacts across given portions of the respective waveguides before exiting the waveguide array along a common facet, thereby generating or inhibiting one of intermodulation products, and harmonics. This structural configuration enables the generation of various modes of transmission at the PIC exit, enabling more efficient transfer of the energy, e.g., to an associated photodetector (PD) that provides conversion of the energy to the RF domain.

  • Publication number: 20220113056
Abstract: A network of wireless remote climate sensors in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system permits the creation of personalized microclimates within an enclosed space. In addition to collecting temperature and humidity data, the wireless remote climate sensors can detect whether the enclosed space is occupied by a human. Human detection is made possible by optional cameras, microphones, and gas sensors on the wireless remote climate sensors. As the human moves throughout the enclosed space, the HVAC system is able to track the human's movement using the wireless remote climate sensors. The HVAC system may adjust airflow to different portions of the enclosed space based on the human's location. The result is an efficient use of system resources to keep users at their ideal temperature.
