  • Patent number: 10806519
Abstract: A method for establishing an interaction between an operator and a monitor of a computer-assisted surgery system comprises tracking a tool manipulated by the operator for providing surgical data calculated from the position/orientation of the tool. A desired interaction is identified from the operator by tracking the tool reaching a specific position and/or a specific orientation. An interactive action is activated on a monitor as a function of the desired interaction, the interactive action being unrelated to said surgical data. A motion of the tool is converted to additional interactions related to said interactive action. A computer-assisted surgery system is also provided.

  • Patent number: 10810304
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for injecting trap code in an execution path of a process executing a program to generate a trap address range to detect potential malicious code. A specified type of command is processed in application code and, in response, trap code is executed to allocate a trap address range. The specified type of command is executed in the application code. A determination is made as to whether an accessing application accesses the trap address range. At least one of transmitting a notification that the accessing application comprises potentially malicious code, monitoring the execution of the accessing application, and restricting execution of the accessing application is performed in response to determining that the accessing application accessed the trap address range.

  • Patent number: 10807957
Abstract: A tetradentate chelating monoquinoline derivative with a structure as shown in formula (I) is able to specifically chelate redox active metal ions like copper ions that are dis-regulated in neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), or copper accumulation disease like Wilson's disease. The binding constants of these derivatives for zinc are 6-10 orders of magnitude below that ones for copper, and these derivatives have a good capability of reducing an oxidative stress. The method for preparing the derivative is simple and the derivatives have good application prospects in manufacturing drugs for neurodegenerative diseases and diseases related to disorder of copper metabolism.

  • Patent number: 10811044
Abstract: An approach to a reduced-head hard disk drive (HDD) involves an actuator subsystem that includes a ball screw cam assembly wherein the number of starts of a multi-start screw equals the number of balls riding in a corresponding start. A stepper motor may be disposed within the screw, to drive rotation of the screw, which drives translation of an actuator arm assembly so that a corresponding pair of read-write heads can access different magnetic-recording disks of a multiple-disk stack. The actuator subsystem may further include a cam locking mechanism for coupling and decoupling the actuator arm with a coil support structure and corresponding voice coil, so that the cam mechanism is able to move under the control of a voice coil motor when input/output operations are performed and is able to move the actuator arm assembly during translation operations.

  • Patent number: 10806611
Abstract: Vascular remodeling devices can include a proximal section, an intermediate section, and a distal section. During deployment, the proximal section can expand from a compressed delivery state to an expanded state and anchor the device in an afferent vessel of a bifurcation. The distal section expands from the compressed delivery state to an expanded state that may be substantially planar, approximately semi-spherical, umbrella shaped, or reverse umbrella shaped. The distal section is positioned in a bifurcation junction across the neck of an aneurysm or within an aneurysm. The intermediate section allows perfusion to efferent vessels. Before or after the device is in position, embolic material may be used to treat the aneurysm. The distal section can act as a scaffolding to prevent herniation of the embolic material. The device can be used for clot retrieval with integral distal embolic protection.

  • Patent number: 10808871
Abstract: A union joins male and female subs of two flowline components. The male sub includes a male end of one component, a retainer collar, and a union nut. An annular boss extends around a union face of the male end and provides a rearward-facing shoulder. The retainer collar is carried on the male end and has a forward-facing shoulder and a rearward-facing shoulder. The collar forward-facing shoulder bears on the male end rearward-facing shoulder. The female sub includes a threaded female end of the other component. The nut is carried on the male end around the collar and threads onto the female end. It also has a forward-facing shoulder which bears on the collar rearward-facing shoulder. The nut forward-facing shoulder and the collar rearward-facing shoulder are beveled. Thus, load from the nut is transmitted through the collar axially to the annular boss and radially inward to the male end.

  • Patent number: 10810428
Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor. The processor receives an algorithmic shopping cart that includes a first set of items determined by an algorithm to have been selected by a person during a shopping session in a physical store, based on a set of inputs received from sensors located within the physical store. The processor also receives a virtual shopping cart that includes a second set of items. Video of the shopping session was captured by a set of cameras located in the physical store and depicts the person selecting the second set of items. The processor compares the algorithmic cart to the virtual cart and determines that a discrepancy exists between the algorithmic cart and the virtual cart. The processor determines a subset of the set of inputs associated with the discrepancy and attaches metadata explaining the discrepancy to the subset. The processor uses the subset to train the algorithm.

  • Patent number: 10806511
Abstract: Partially insulated focused ablation (PIFA) catheters using thermally conductive materials have differential radiofrequency (RF) heating and thereby allow for tailored RF application. Open-irrigated, 4 mm, and 8 mm RF ablation catheters were partially insulated by coating half their surfaces with a layer of vinyl, silicone, vinyl-silicone, polyurethane, or a composite of aluminum oxide/boron nitride (AOBN). RF ablation using catheter tips partially coated with a thermally conductive insulation material such as AOBN results in larger ablation lesion volumes without being limited by standard temperature controls. Partial insulation of the catheter tip is able to protect adjacent critical structures during in vivo ablation.

  • Patent number: 10812856
Abstract: In one embodiment, a set-top box records playback content. The playback content comprises at least one frame that displays first media content and a first advertisement simultaneously. Moreover, the first advertisement is associated with an expiry date. The set-top box receives a selection to view the playback content on a viewing date and determines that the viewing date is past the expiry date associated with the first advertisement. When the viewing date is past the expiry date associated with the first advertisement, the set-top box updates the playback content by replacing the first advertisement in the at least one frame of the playback content with a second advertisement. The set-top box communicates the updated playback content to a display device. The updated playback content comprises at least one frame that displays media content and the second advertisement simultaneously.
