  • Publication number: 20050260584
Abstract: Methods of detecting a dimorphic fungus, including differentiating a dimorphic fungus from other fungi are disclosed. A sample suspected of containing a nucleic acid of a fungus, such as an internal transcribed spacer-2 (ITS2) nucleic acid sequence of a dimorphic fungal rDNA, is screened for the presence or absence of that nucleic acid. The presence of the nucleic acid indicates the sample was contacted by the fungus. Determining whether the nucleic acid sequence is present in the sample can be accomplished by detecting hybridization between a dimorphic probe, species-specific probe, and/or microbe-specific probe and a nucleic acid sequence corresponding to the ITS2 region of fungal rDNA. Kits and arrays for carrying out these methods also are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20050259753
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing a plurality of pixels, in a video system, are disclosed. Aspects of the method may comprise acquiring scaling factors associated with a plurality of output pixels and generating filter coefficients during the generation of the output pixels. The filter coefficients may be utilized to filter a plurality of pixels to produce the plurality of output pixels. The filter coefficient may be generated on the fly utilizing a windowed sinc function corresponding to the scaling factors. The sinc function may be sampled according to the needed number of filter taps to determine the filter coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20050247265
Abstract: A multi-workpiece chamber includes at least two processing stations, for exposing workpieces to a treatment process. A partition cooperates with the chamber such that the partition is disengagably removable from the chamber and re-engagable with the chamber for selectively dividing the processing stations. The partition is configured to provide for non-line-of-sight travel of certain ones of the process related products between the processing stations . An exhaust arrangement divides exhaust flow into at least two approximately equal exhaust flow portions that leave the multi-workpiece chamber in a way which enhances uniformity of the treatment process for the stations. A partition configuration is described including a partition portion between the stations and a baffle portion extending into an exhaust arrangement. A modified partition arrangement is provided for use in establishing a modified exchange characteristic of the process related products.

  • Patent number: 6961699
Abstract: A system for automating transcription services for one or more users. This system receives a voice dictation file from a current user, which is automatically converted into a first written text based on a set of conversion variables. The same voice dictation file is automatically converted into a second written text based on a second set of conversion variables. The first and second sets of conversion variables have at least one difference, such as different speech recognition programs, different vocabularies, and the like. The system further includes a program for manually editing a copy of the first and second written text to create a verbatim text of the voice dictation file. This verbatim text can be delivered to the current user as transcribed text. The verbatim text can also be fed back into each speech recognition instance to improve the accuracy of each instance with respect to the human voice in the file.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for preparing small spherical particles of an active agent by providing a solution in a single liquid phase. The single liquid phase comprises an active agent, a phase separation enhancing agent, and a first solvent. A phase change is induced at a controlled rate in the solution to cause a liquid-solid phase separation of the active agent and to form a solid phase and a liquid phase. The solid phase comprises solid small spherical particles of the active agent. The liquid phase comprises the phase separation enhancing agent and the solvent. The small spherical particles are substantially spherical and having a size from about 0.01 ?m to about 200 ?m.

  • Patent number: 6956888
Abstract: A method of channel estimation in a cellular communication system is described. Symbols are transmitted between a mobile station and a base station. According to the described method, an incoming signal is received via a communication channel. A first estimate for the channel impulse response of that communication channel is provided and used to process the incoming signal to generate an estimated data symbol. The estimated data symbol is used to generate a soft output feedback decision which is then used to make a further estimate of the channel impulse response.
