  • Publication number: 20050068927
Abstract: This invention discloses a method of transmitting data through Local Area Network by abandoning the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to eliminate the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and avoid unnecessary delay and communication flow. The present invention also abandons the concept of TCP/IP address, so that it is not necessary to maintain the huge TCP/IP address database in wireless LAN in order to implement the gapless roaming and reduce packet conflict during the transmission process by defining a smaller capacity for the data packet head in the high-speed wireless LAN standard IEEE 802.11 protocol.

  • Publication number: 20050069633
Abstract: A method is presented for controlling process delay times between a) thin film deposition and lubricant application, and b) lubricant application and abrasive polishing. Applicants have discovered that for certain lubricants, a minimum delay time after the overcoat has been deposited before the lubricant is applied increases the number of disks passing the glide test after abrasive polishing. In addition, applicants have discovered that for certain lubricants, the abrasive polishing should take place within a maximum time window following the application of the lubricant. A computerized work-in-progress tracking system is preferably used to implement the method of the invention.

  • Patent number: 6874086
Abstract: A computer system includes a web client having a client based program residing on it, a firewall having a protocol proxy residing on it, and a host server having an application program and a special window manager residing on it. All communications between the protocol proxy and the application program go through the special window manager. The web client communicates with the firewall through the Internet, and the firewall communicates with the host server through a LAN. The client based program employs HTTP, and the special window manager employs a persistent connection, socket-based protocol. The protocol proxy establishes and maintains a persistent connection with the special window manager, and communicates information back and forth between the client based program and the application program through the special window manager by first protocol translating the information between HTTP and the special window manager's persistent connection, socket-based protocol.

  • Patent number: 6872206
Abstract: Methods treat a tissue region. In one arrangement, the methods deploy an electrode on a support structure in a tissue region at or near the cardia of the stomach. In one embodiment, the support structure has a proximal region and a distal region. The proximal region is enlarged in comparison to the distal region, and the electrode is carried by the enlarged proximal surface. The methods advance the electrode in a path to penetrate the tissue region and couple the electrode to a source of radio frequency energy to ohmically heat tissue and create a lesion in the tissue region.

  • Publication number: 20050063463
Abstract: A scalable layered video coding scheme that encodes video data frames into multiple layers, including a base layer of comparatively low quality video and multiple enhancement layers of increasingly higher quality video, adds error resilience to the enhancement layer. Unique resynchronization marks are inserted into the enhancement layer bitstream in headers associated with each video packet, headers associated with each bit plane, and headers associated with each video-of-plane (VOP) segment. Following transmission of the enhancement layer bitstream, the decoder tries to detect errors in the packets. Upon detection, the decoder seeks forward in the bitstream for the next known resynchronization mark. Once this mark is found, the decoder is able to begin decoding the next video packet. With the addition of many resynchronization marks within each frame, the decoder can recover very quickly and with minimal data loss in the event of a packet loss or channel error in the received enhancement layer bitstream.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and a system for clamping a wafer to a J-R electrostatic chuck using a single-phase square wave AC clamping voltage. The method comprises determining a single-phase square wave clamping voltage for the J-R electrostatic chuck, wherein the determination is based, at least in part, on a minimum residual clamping force associated with the wafer and the electrostatic chuck and a surface topography of a leaky dielectric layer associated therewith. The wafer is placed on the electrostatic chuck; and the determined clamping voltage is applied to the electrostatic chuck, therein electrostatically clamping the wafer to the electrostatic chuck, wherein at least the minimum residual clamping force is maintained during a polarity switch of the single-phase square wave clamping voltage.

  • Publication number: 20050052817
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for clamping a wafer to an electrostatic chuck using a single-phase square wave AC clamping voltage. The method comprises determining a single-phase square wave clamping voltage for the electrostatic chuck, wherein the determination is based, at least in part, on an inertial response time of the wafer. The wafer is placed on the electrostatic chuck, wherein a gap between the electrostatic chuck and the wafer is defined. The determined single-phase square wave clamping voltage is then applied, wherein the wafer is generally clamped to the electrostatic chuck within a predetermined distance, while an amount of electrostatic charge is generally not allowed to accumulate, thereby enabling a fast de-clamping of the wafer.

  • Publication number: 20050054784
Abstract: Superabsorbent material treated to resist damage when subjected to an Absorbent Product Processing Simulation Test, which simulates the mechanical damage that occurs during current commercial diaper manufacturing processes. • Patent number: 6865172
Abstract: The invention relates to a receiving method and a receiver to be used in a cellular radio system. The received signal is FFT transformed and the spreading code of the receiver is FFT transformed in transform means (30). A transformed signal (36) and spreading code (37) are multiplied to provide a product (38) whose phase is shifted by the propagation delay of the signal in shift means (33). After this, a shifted product (39) is IFFT transformed in inverse transform means (34) at the same time as the components of the transmitted signals that have propagated on different paths are combined, whereby the information of the signal can be detected.
