  • Publication number: 20110296541
Abstract: Methods for preparing recombinant proteins, such as antibodies, in eggs are described. The method offers advantages over existing systems for preparing recombinant proteins including high yield, low cost and compatibility with animal protection regulations. In addition, since eggs are edible food sources the recombinant protein does not have to be isolated from the egg.

  • Publication number: 20110287378
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed, at least in part, to a self ligating orthodontic bracket having a rotatable member for securing an archwire within a slot of the bracket. Embodiments of the orthodontic bracket disclosed herein include a bracket body containing the archwire slot as well as tie wings for attaching various orthodontic devices (e.g., elastomeric bands) to the bracket. The rotatable member is rotatable in a first direction (e.g., counter clockwise) relative to a body of the bracket for securing or locking the archwire within the slot, and for rotating in an opposite direction (e.g., a clockwise direction) relative to the bracket body for unsecuring or unlocking the archwire so that it is substantially unrestrained from exiting the slot.

  • Patent number: 8059613
Abstract: A communications system includes a first PTT network, and a second PTT network having a plurality of interoperability gateways. A method for routing a PTT call terminated at the second PTT network includes receiving a PTT call request from the first PTT network, the PTT call request identifying a target subscriber unit on the second PTT network and forwarding the PTT call request to a first interoperability gateway. If the target is located in a region served by a second PTT interoperability gateway, then a redirect message, including an identifier of the second PTT interoperability gateway, is received and the PTT call request is redirected to the second PTT interoperability gateway. An identifier of the target and an identifier of the second PTT interoperability gateway are stored in a cache for directing subsequent PTT calls to the same target to the corresponding second interoperability gateway.

  • Publication number: 20110276128
Abstract: Disclosed prosthetic valves can comprise a sewing ring configured to secure the valve to an implantation site. Some disclosed valves comprise a resiliently collapsible frame having a neutral configuration and a collapsed deployment configuration. Some disclosed frames can self-expand to the neutral configuration when released from the collapsed deployment configuration. Collapsing a disclosed valve can provide convenient access to the sewing ring, such as for securing the valve to the implantation site, as well as for the insertion of the valve through relatively small surgical incisions.

  • Patent number: 8054780
Abstract: A method and system for aggregate registration and transparent data notification to services during IMS registration. A network entity, such as Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) may receive an aggregate registration request that includes a plurality of service identifiers and associated service-specific data sets. The aggregate registration request is sent by a user agent or other similar program on behalf of a user. The network entity then sends a notification to each particular service of the plurality of services, including in each notification the service-specific data set for the particular service. The user may thus supply service-specific data to each service during IMS registration, obviating the need for the user to directly and separately contact each service for the purpose of supplying service-specific data.

  • Patent number: 8055290
Abstract: System and method for reducing call setup time of a dispatch communication. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a message from an originating dispatch device intended for a target dispatch device. The message may be inspected by a base transceiver station for a call request announcement. The method may further include determining if a radio resource is available for the target dispatch device. According to an additional embodiment of the invention, a call request acknowledgement message may be transmitted to the originating dispatch device after a period of time to ensure a guaranteed talk permit. The call request announcement may also be transmitted to the target dispatch device after the period of time.

  • Patent number: 8055262
Abstract: Several embodiments of an IMS communications network are disclosed. In one embodiment, the network comprises a plurality of dispatch application servers (DAS), an S-CSCF, and an event notification server. The S-CSCF is adapted to receive an IMS registration request from a dispatch client, authenticate the registration request, send a registration confirmation to the dispatch client, and send a notification indicating the registration of the dispatch client to an event notification server. The event notification server is adapted to receive the notification from the S-CSCF, select a DAS, and send a notification to the selected DAS indicating an assignment to provide dispatch service to the dispatch client. In another embodiment, the registration notification to the event notification server is sent from the dispatch client, instead of the S-CSCF.

  • Patent number: 8027195
Abstract: Techniques for the reading and writing of data in multi-state non-volatile memories are described. Data is written into the memory in a binary format, read into the data registers on the memory, and “folded” within the registers, and then written back into the memory in a multi-state format. In the folding operation, binary data from a single word line is folded into a multi-state format and, when rewritten in multi-state form, is written into a only a portion of another word line. A corresponding reading technique, where the data is “unfolded” is also described. The techniques further allow for the data to be encoded with an error correction code (ECC) on the controller that takes into account its eventual multi-state storage prior to transferring the data to the memory to be written in binary form. A register structure allowing such a “folding” operation is also presented.
