    Abstract: A magnetic level indicator includes a fixed base and a plurality of magnetic elements. The fixed base includes two lateral plates corresponding to each other, a block portion extending from a bottom edge of each of the two lateral plates and an installation space between the two lateral plates. The magnetic elements are pivotally arranged in the installation space and are arranged along an extension direction of each lateral plate. Each of the magnetic elements includes a first surface and a second surface corresponding to each other and includes two stop plates placed corresponding to each other between the first surface and the second surface. The adjusting set is mounted in the outer casing and has two adjusting units. Each adjusting unit has a driving motor, a cam, and a limiting element. The driving motor is mounted in the outer casing adjacent to one of the lenses and has a driving shaft. The cam is eccentrically mounted around the driving shaft and is pressed against the lens that is adjacent to the driving motor. The limiting element is connected to the outer casing and the corresponding lens to enable the corresponding lens to press against the cam.

    Abstract: A composite film includes a substrate that is not responsive to relative humidity, and also one or more layers of hygromorphic material. The hygromorphic material expands in response to an increase in relative humidity and contracts in response to a decrease in relative humidity. In some cases, the composite film is bi-layer or tri-layer. The composite films are fabricated such that they undergo a desired bending pattern in response to changes in relative humidity. In some cases, these bending patterns are combinations of two bending primitives: a smooth curve and a sharply angled curve. These two primitives are combined to create a variety of shape transformations including 1D linear transformation, 2D surface expansion and contraction, 2.5D texture change and 3D folding. Any type of hygromorphic material may be employed, including living gram positive and gram negative bacterial cells, yeast cells, plant cells, mammalian cells, cell debris, or hydrogel.
