  • Publication number: 20120014528
Abstract: Systems and methods for audio signal processing are disclosed, where a discrete number of simple digital filters are generated for particular portions of an audio frequency range. Studies have shown that certain frequency ranges are particularly important for human ears' location-discriminating capability, while other ranges are generally ignored. Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs) are examples response functions that characterize how ears perceive sound positioned at different locations. By selecting one or more “location-critical” portions of such response functions, one can construct simple filters that can be used to simulate hearing where location-discriminating capability is substantially maintained. Because the filters can be simple, they can be implemented in devices having limited computing power and resources to provide location-discrimination responses that form the basis for many desirable audio effects.

  • Publication number: 20110304269
Abstract: A LED lamp for easy assembly and fixation includes a fixing plate, a vapor chamber, a LED module, an outer frame, and fixing elements. The fixing plate has assembling holes. The vapor chamber has a heat-releasing surface brought into thermal contact with the fixing plate and a heat-absorbing surface opposite to the heat-releasing surface. The LED module includes a circuit board and LEDs arranged on the circuit board. The outer frame is provided with through-holes corresponding to the assembling holes and an accommodating opening corresponding to the LEDs. The fixing elements penetrate the through-holes and the assembling holes respectively to assemble the outer frame with the fixing plate. With this arrangement, the vapor chamber and the LED module can be sandwiched between the outer frame and the fixing plate. Thus, the present invention can be assembled and fixed to a predetermined position with an excellent structural strength.

  • Publication number: 20110280441
Abstract: A method controls a projection of a projector. The method predetermines hand gestures, and assigns an operation function of an input device to each of the predetermined hand gestures. When an electronic file is projected onto a screen, the projector receives an image of a speaker captured by an image-capturing device connected to the projector. The projector identifies whether a hand gesture of the speaker matches one of the predetermined hand gestures. If the hand gesture matches one of the hand gestures, the projector may execute a corresponding assigned operation function.

  • Publication number: 20110274877
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a metal base laminate includes the steps of providing a metal board having a first through-hole; forming a stack-up structure on at least one side of the metal board, wherein a resin film layer, a prepreg layer, and a metal foil layer are disposed in sequence on a metal board-bordered side of the stack-up structure; and laminating the metal board and the stack-up structure together. The method is effective in enhancing mechanical strength, reducing voids which might otherwise be left in through-holes not fully filled in a conventional via filling process, and further enhancing the processing characteristics of the metal base laminate thus manufactured, by using a prepreg and a resin film concurrently as an insulating material. A metal base laminate manufactured by the method is further introduced.

  • Publication number: 20110248515
Abstract: A multistage lock has a stationary frame, an inner frame, an outer frame mounted between the stationary and inner frames, multiple stops mounted on the stationary and inner frames, two sliding panels mounted on the outer frame and a handle assembly connected to the sliding panels. Stopping protrusions of the stops selectively engage limiting protrusions on the sliding panels when the at least one handle is turned. Consequently, the inner and outer frames are selectively opened. The multistage lock has a simplified structure and allows people to decide whether a door panel (window) is open according to situations and weather outdoors.
