    Abstract: An embodiment of a closed-cell polymeric rigid foam may be made using a one-shot method and a reaction system that includes a hydrofluoroalkene physical blowing agent and a polyol mixture having an aminic polyol. The hydrofluoroalkene blowing agent has 3 to 5 carbon atoms and a boiling point between 10° C. and 40° C. at 1 atmosphere pressure. Embodiments of rigid foams may have high closed cell content and are particularly well suited for thermal insulation.

    Abstract: A method of detecting and prompting a human lower limbs stepping motion is applied to an exercise machine with pedals installed to both left and right sides of the exercise machine and provided for detecting a pedaling force while stepping the pedals. In the method, a force sensor is installed to the pedals, such that when an exerciser steps on the pedals by feet alternately, the force sensor detects, generates and transmits an electric signal to a control unit and converts the electric signal into a pedaling force value, and the control unit compares the pedaling force value with a predetermined value and prompts a message when the pedaling force value is beyond the range of the predetermined value.

Moreover, after receiving additional pairing-intent information specifying the pairing intent from the other electronic device, the electronic device establishes the connection with the other electronic device when the additional pairing-intent information matches the pairing-intent information.

    Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for de-duplicating and serving a combined content feed are provided. The service determines whether an item is duplicated among the multiple classes. If so, a distance between the duplicates is calculated (within the feed). If the distance is less than a first threshold, one of them is discarded and may or may not be replaced. A decision regarding which to eject may depend upon which version (e.g., sponsored or unsponsored) is positioned earlier in the feed, whether the duplicates are also less than a second threshold apart (which is lower than the first threshold), and/or other factors.

    Abstract: This invention relates to methods for the transformation of Brachypodium sp. and transformed plants produced according to the method. Specifically, this invention relates to direct transformation of callus derived from immature embryos using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, and plants regenerated from the transformed callus tissue. The methods comprise utilizing Brachypodium sp. immature embryos as the source of plant material for callus induction; induced calli can be infected by Agrobacterium hosting an appropriate binary vector. Transgenic plants are regenerated from transgenic calli grown under conditions favoring growth of transformed cells while substantially inhibiting growth of non-transformed cells. These methods provide for significantly increased plant transformation efficiency with minimal ratio of escapes.
