Abstract: A control system and a method for defining function thereof are provided. The control system includes a touchpad and a key sheet, wherein the touchpad includes a touch sensing surface and the key sheet includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The key sheet is detachably disposed on the touch sensing surface with the second surface facing toward the touch sensing surface. The second surface comprises at least one identification pattern for generating an attribute recognition signal when the at least one identification pattern contacts or approaches the touch sensing surface. The attribute recognition signal reflects features of the identification patterns and is used to determine a type of a controllable device. The features include one or a combination of a number of the identification patterns, a touch position of each identification pattern, and a shape of each identification pattern.

Abstract: A keyboard capable of generating a tactile feedback signal makes use of acceleration change of pressing behavior and releasing behavior of a physical keyswitch during pressing and releasing stages. The acceleration change is modulated according to a touch sensitive frequency response in various ways so that a simulated tactile feedback may be generated on the keyswitches of the keyboard.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing the retardation film. The method includes providing a microstructure substrate. The microstructure substrate has a plurality of protruding portions and a plurality of recessed portions alternatively arranged. The method further includes forming an optical alignment layer on the microstructure substrate. The method further includes applying a polarized ultraviolet (UV) to the optical alignment layer above the microstructure substrate. The polarized UV is applied in a diffusion angle from normal vector of the microstructure substrate such that the optical alignment layer forms a uniform alignment angle, and the diffusion angle is substantially 20°-60°.

Abstract: An optical film and a display device having the same are provided. The optical film has a light input face, a light output face opposite to the light input face, and a light-output structure disposed on the light output face. The light-output structure includes a plurality of light output microstructures such as prisms disposed side by side along a first direction on the light output face. Each prism has a first quadrilateral cross section parallel to the first direction. A first side of the quadrilateral cross section is connected to the light output face and includes a first angle with the light output face, wherein the first angles of the prisms continuously arranged have angle values varying in a periodic manner.

Abstract: In an electric power tool, a flywheel can be driven by a driving unit to rotate about a wheel axis to thereby impart kinetic energy to a tool body through a force transmitting portion of the flywheel. A ventilating unit is mounted to rotate with the flywheel about the wheel axis. When the flywheel is driven to rotate, cooling air is generated by rotation of the ventilating unit.

Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) lamp is provided. The LED lamp includes a circuit board, at least one LED, a diffusing cap and a heat sink structure. The LED is disposed on the circuit board for emitting a light. The diffusing cap covers the LED and the circuit board. The diffusing cap includes an outer emitting portion and a lateral emitting portion. The outer emitting portion has a concave. The lateral emitting portion is connected to the outer emitting portion. The concave is used for reflecting part of the light toward a lateral surface of the lateral emitting portion. The heat sink structure is disposed below the circuit board for dissipating a heat generated from the LED and the circuit board.

Abstract: An omnidirectional structural color pigment having a protective coating. The pigment has a first layer of a first material and a second layer of a second material, the second layer extending across the first layer. In addition, the pigment reflects a band of electromagnetic radiation having a predetermined full width at half maximum (FWHM) of less than 300 nm and a predetermined color shift of less than 30° when the pigment is exposed to broadband electromagnetic radiation and viewed from angles between 0 and 45°. The pigment has a weather resistant coating that covers an outer surface thereof and reduces a relative photocatalytic activity of the pigment by at least 50%.

Abstract: A field extraction template simplifies the creation of field extraction rules by providing a user with a set of field names commonly assigned to a certain type of data, as well as guidance on how to extract values for those fields. These field extraction rules, in turn, facilitate access to certain “chunks” of the data, or to information derived from those chunks, through named fields. A field extraction template comprises at least a set of field names and ordering data for the field names. The ordering data indicates index positions that are associated with at least some of the field names. A delimiter is specified for splitting data items into arrays of chunks. The chunk of a data item that belongs to a given field name is the chunk whose position within the item's array of chunks is equivalent to the index position associated with the given field name.

By selectively measuring a measurable species residing in a diffusion barrier layer, to the substantial exclusion of the measurable species residing exterior to the diffusion barrier layer, measurement errors introduced by sample constituents, such as red blood cells, and manufacturing variances may be reduced.

Abstract: A server power system includes a backboard with a plurality of hard disk drive (HDD) units, a number of motherboards, and a number of power cables. The numbers of the HDD units, the motherboards, and the power cables are the same. Each HDD unit includes a number of HDDs. Each HDD of one HDD unit is coupled to a corresponding motherboard through a corresponding power cable. Each power cable includes a motherboard interface and an HDD interface. A ground pin and a power pin of the HDD interface are connected to a ground pin and a power pin of the motherboard interface correspondingly. The motherboard interface of each power cable is coupled to a power interface of the corresponding motherboard. The number of the power cables is selected to make the HDDs of each HDD unit coupled to the HDD interfaces of the corresponding power cables.

The delay circuit receives a power good signal and outputs the power good signal after a preset period of time to the switch circuit. The switch circuit energizes the determining circuit when the switch circuit receives the power good signal. The determining circuit outputs a control signal to the power circuit to disconnect the power supply unit from the device when the device is short-circuited.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a cylinder block defining a cylinder and a cylinder head mounted to the block. The cylinder head supplies air and fuel to the cylinder for combustion therein. The engine also includes an exhaust manifold operatively connected to the cylinder head and having a first outlet and a second outlet configured to exhaust post-combustion gasses from the cylinder. The engine also includes a turbocharging system configured to pressurize an airflow for delivery thereof to the cylinder. The turbocharging system includes a low-flow turbocharger driven by the post-combustion gasses from the first outlet to pressurize the airflow and a high-flow turbocharger driven by the post-combustion gasses from the second outlet to pressurize the airflow. The turbocharging system additionally includes a flow control device for selectively directing the post-combustion gasses to the low-flow and high-flow turbochargers. A vehicle employing such an engine is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a control device and a control system for a converter. The control device according to the present disclosure includes: a touchscreen adapted to provide a human-machine interface; a communication adapter plate connected to the touchscreen, the touchscreen communicating with the communication adapter plate using a first communication protocol; and a PLC control device adapted to control the converter, the PLC being connected to the communication adapter plate and communicating with the communication adapter plate using a second communication protocol that is different from the first communication protocol. The control device and the control system for a converter according to the present disclosure may incorporate both the touchscreen and PLC, achieve an excellent closed-loop control capability, and thus meet user requirements.
