Abstract: The present invention discloses a flicker detection method and a flicker detection apparatus. The method includes: calculating the mean values of selected rows of image frames to constitute a mean value vector; calculating a differential vector between the mean value vectors of a current frame and a previous frame; calculating a DC-free difference vector; building a first square wave and a second square wave, and a third square wave and a fourth square wave; calculating a first frequency reference value; calculating a second frequency reference value; and if the difference between the first and second frequency reference values is above a threshold, then it is determined that flicker is present in the current frame; otherwise, it is determined that no flicker is present.

Abstract: A vertical axis windmill with a deceleration control system includes: a stationary shaft, a rotary shaft rotatably sleeved onto the stationary shaft, plural blades fixed to the rotary shaft, and a generator disposed between the stationary shaft and the rotary shaft. The deceleration control system includes a damping plate, a magnetic-force generating unit, a rectifier, and a control unit. The magnetic-force generating unit generates an eddy current to produce a damping effect. The rectifier converts AC voltage outputted from the generator into DC voltage. The control unit is coupled between the rectifier and the magnetic-force generating unit and sets a conduction level. When the DC voltage is lower than the conduction level, the rectifier and the magnetic-force generating unit are electrically disconnected from each other, and when the DC voltage is greater than the conduction level, the rectifier and the magnetic-force generating unit are electrically connected to each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drum baffle and a washing machine having the same. The drum baffle includes a sheath and a bottom plate. The sheath and the bottom plate form a cavity having a hollow structure. The drum baffle is made by injection molding using one or more polymer adsorption materials, which may be used as a washing medium. The cavity of the drum baffle is internally filled with solid particles. The drum baffle includes a plurality of holes defined for communicating with the cavity of the drum baffle and an inner space of the inner drum of the washing machine to allow washing water to flow through. The drum baffle assists laundry to be rolled inside the inner drum, where the drum baffle and the solid particles inside adsorb and absorb soil in the laundry so as to achieve better washing results.

Abstract: An optical system may include a digital signal processor (DSP) to receive first samples of a digital signal. The first samples may be Hamming encoded. The DSP may correlate the first samples to multiple groups of second samples to determine multiple correlation values. Each of the multiple groups of second samples may correspond to respective code words. Each of the multiple correlation values may correspond to a correlation measurement between the first samples and each of the multiple groups of second samples. The DSP may determine a particular code word, of the multiple code words, corresponding to one of the correlation values of the multiple correlation values; determine output bits based on bits of the particular code word and the one of the correlation values; and provide the output bits. The output bits may include data associated with the digital signal.

Abstract: A vehicle pulling device, a system for passing a vehicle in two modes, and an inspection system for scanning a vehicle by radiation are disclosed. The vehicle pulling device comprises a movable chassis disposed in a travel passage for a vehicle and being movable in a first direction; and a support beam disposed to the movable chassis and being rotatable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the support beam is located substantially in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, such that wheels of the vehicle are interacted with the support beam of the vehicle pulling device so that the vehicle is pulled to pass through the travel passage; and in the second position, the support beam is located substantially parallel to the first direction such that the wheels of the vehicle are not interacted with the support beam of the vehicle pulling device so that the vehicle travels by oneself to pass through the travel passage.

Abstract: A sous-vide cooker for sous-vide cooking applications is disclosed. The sous-vide cooker is particularly suited for use in home kitchens and on small countertops. The sous-vide cooker includes a removable inner tank cooking chamber. The sous-vide cooker has a magnetic stirrer that agitates the water for better temperature homogeneity. In at least one embodiment, the sous-vide cooker can also accept multiple tank cooking chambers that each heat at different temperatures. In at least one embodiment, a temperature controller is present on the outer surface of the outer enclosure. The temperature controller may be used to control the temperature, the period of time cooking is to occur, and the degree of agitation exerted by the agitation device. In at least one embodiment, the temperature controller can be further configurable to store a number of pre-defined user settings or user-input specifications.

A method for controlling a remote controller includes steps of determining a switching behavior on the touch panel and switching the remote controller among operation modes corresponding to the switching behavior. The operation modes include a remoter mode, a touch-pad mode, and an air-mouse mode.

Abstract: A pill grasping method comprises rotating a grasping arm with a nozzle to a predetermined initial position driven by a driving mechanism, rotating a number of pill storage cases to position one of the pill storage cases with a set number of pills to a predetermined grasping pill position driven by an actuating mechanism, rotating the grasping arm to enter into the corresponding pill storage case, starting a pump to generate a vacuum in the nozzle for sucking a pill, and determining if an actual pressure value in a pipe connecting the nozzle to the pump is less than a predetermined pressure value. The grasping arm is rotated to the predetermined initial position when the actual pressure value is less than the predetermined pressure value.

In some embodiments, the FinFET device has a three-dimensional fin of semiconductor material protruding from a substrate at a position located between first and second isolation regions. A gate structure overlies the three-dimensional fin of semiconductor material. The gate structure controls the flow of charge carriers within the three-dimensional fin of semiconductor material. A buried silicon-germanium-oxide (SiGeOx) structure is disposed within the three-dimensional fin of semiconductor material at a position extending between the first and second isolation regions.

A transceiver module transmits at least a signal carrying information regarding the sub-frame pattern to a peer communications apparatus in the communications system. In addition, at least one almost blank sub-frame in the sub-frame pattern is arranged in a sub-frame for the peer communications apparatus to transmit an uplink grant message for granting an user equipment to transmit uplink data to the peer communications apparatus.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a device for detecting an E-mail attack. The device receives a data flow; obtains an E-mail traffic parameter of each statistic period within a predetermined number of statistic periods, where within each statistic period, the E-mail traffic parameter of each of the statistic periods is determined according to a protocol type of the received data flow; and determines that an E-mail attack is detected when the E-mail traffic parameter of each statistic period within the predetermined number of statistic periods matches a first threshold. By applying the disclosed embodiments, a detection result of the E-mail attack is more accurate.
