Abstract: An embodiment of a method for upgrading firmware, being executed by a processing unit, is introduced. Factory settings corresponding to a first firmware version with user configuration values corresponding to a second firmware version to generate combined user configuration values. System initiation for an electronic device is performed using the first firmware version according to the combined user configuration values.

Abstract: A system and method for controlling transportation of a substrate of a liquid crystal panel is disclosed. Said method comprises: putting the substrate of the liquid crystal panel into a transport apparatus; humidifying the transport apparatus having the substrate of the liquid crystal panel placed thereinto by utilizing a humidifying apparatus to form a mist in the transport apparatus; and transporting the substrate of the liquid crystal panel by utilizing the humidified transport apparatus. The present invention prevents the substrate of the liquid crystal panel from being damaged by electrostatic charges and ensures product percent of pass.

Abstract: An energy-saving circuit for a motherboard includes a connecting circuit, a control circuit, a power circuit, an audio circuit, and a south bridge circuit. The connecting circuit can be connected to a number of audio devices, or may be unconnected to an audio device. A first detecting signal to the control circuit is output by the connecting circuit when an audio device is connected, and a second detecting signal is output by the connecting circuit when no audio device is connected. The power circuit powers the audio circuit according to the first control signal, and provides no power according to the second control signal. The south bridge chip allows audio communication for the first control signal, and prevents audio communication for the second control signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a method and apparatus for efficient cross-correlation between a reference sequence and a received sequence in a wireless communication system. The reference sequence includes a concatenation of sign-adjusted sub-sequences, the sign adjustments determined by a first sign sequence of a set of sign sequences. For example, the reference sequence may be an alternating concatenation of sign-adjusted Golay complementary pair sub-sequences. The received sequence is shifted to provide a plurality of time shifted sequences that are then cross-correlated with the sub-sequences to form a set of partial cross-correlations. The partial cross-correlations are sign-adjusted using the first sign sequence and combined to produce the cross-correlation between the reference sequence and the received sequence. The cross-correlations so produced may be used for channel signature (e.g. PHY-type) identification and/or channel impulse response estimation.

Abstract: In one example, a high-speed divider includes two identical pseudo-CML latches and four output inverters. Each latch includes a pair of cross-coupled signal holding transistors. A first P-channel pull-up circuit pulls up on a second output node QB of the latch. A second P-channel pull-up circuit pulls up on a first output node Q of the latch. A pull-down circuit involves four N-channel transistors. This pull-down circuit: 1) couples the QB node to ground when a clock signal CK is high and a data signal D is high, 2) couples the Q node to ground when CK is high and D is low, 3) prevents a transfer of charge between the QB and Q nodes through the pull-down circuit when D transitions during a time period when CK is low, and 4) decouples the QB and Q nodes from the pull-down circuit when CK is low.

Abstract: An adaptable orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system (OFDM) that uses a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) to having OFDM signals transmitted either in accordance with time diversity to reducing signal fading or in accordance with spatial diversity to increase the data rate. Sub-carriers are classified for spatial diversity transmission or for time diversity transmission based on the result of a comparison between threshold values and at least one of three criteria. The criteria includes a calculation of a smallest eigen value of a frequency channel response matrix and a smallest element of a diagonal of the matrix and a ratio of the largest and smallest eigen values of the matrix.

Abstract: A hybrid DC breaker, comprises a main current circuit, a transfer current circuit, an over-voltage limiting circuit and a control system, wherein the main current circuit, the transfer current circuit and the over-voltage limiting circuit are connected in parallel. The transfer current circuit consists of circuits 1-4, wherein the circuit 1 and the circuit 4 are connected in series at first and then connected with the main current circuit in parallel; a pre-charged capacitor is connected with the circuit 4 in parallel after being connected with the circuit 3 in series; and, one end of the circuit 2 is connected with the left end of the main current circuit while the other end thereof is connected with a connection point of the pre-charged capacitor and the circuit 3.

Abstract: A charging dock adapted for charging a hand-held device includes a pedestal defining an opening, an electrical connector, a fastening plate slantwise disposed to a rear of the electrical connector, a plurality of first elastic elements restrained between the pedestal and the insulating housing, a metal braking piece disposed to a bottom of the pedestal, and a plurality of second elastic elements respectively restrained between button caps and the pedestal. The electrical connector is telescopically and slantwise disposed to the bottom of the pedestal and partially projects in or out of the opening. The hand-held device is capable of pressing on or being apart away from the button caps to make the button caps stretch out or draw back to drive the attaching portions to be attached to or apart away from the magnetic elements under the elasticity function of the second elastic elements.

The adhesive tape includes a protective layer, an adhesive layer formed on the protective layer, and a plurality of bearing particles dispersed in the adhesive layer. The bearing particles are hollow and elastic. An impact resistance of the adhesive tape is improved, and an adhering performance is improved.

Abstract: A three-dimensional nonvolatile memory array includes a select layer that selectively connects vertical bit lines to horizontal bit lines. Individual select switches of the select layer include two separately controllable transistors that are connected in series between a horizontal bit line and a vertical bit line. Each transistor in a select switch is connected to a different control circuit by a different select line.

Abstract: A memory controller and an associated signal generating method are provided. A generating sequence of commands is properly arranged to enlarge latching intervals of an address signal and a bank signal for stable access of a DDR memory module.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for opportunistically using at least a portion of a dedicated short range communications (DSRC) spectrum. A multi-mode device is operated outside of the DSRC spectrum. An activity level is detected on at least a portion of the DSRC spectrum, and it is determined whether to use at least the portion of the DSRC spectrum based at least in part on the detected activity level.

Abstract: A phase change memory (PCM), a writing method thereof and a reading method thereof are provided. The PCM has a plurality of memory cells. The writing method comprises the following steps. At least one stress pulse is applied for aging at least one of the memory cells. A starting pulse is applied to all of the memory cells of the PCM for decreasing a resistance of each memory cell. A detection pulse is applied to all of the memory cells of the PCM for detecting the resistance of each memory cell. A set pulse is applied to the aged memory cells. A reset pulse is applied to the non-aged memory cells.

Abstract: A method for making a fiber board includes the steps of, providing a fiber sheet and positioning the fiber sheet in a mold, providing at least one plastic sheet and locating the plastic sheet on a surface of the fiber sheet. Heating and melting the plastic sheet to make the molten plastic penetrate into the fiber sheet, and hot pressing the fiber sheet and the molten plastic to form the fiber board. A fiber board made by the method is also described.

Abstract: A method of forming a printed pattern on a substrate includes printing a pattern onto the substrate with a conductive ink including a conductive material, a thermoplastic binder and a solvent, curing the printed pattern, and fusing the printed pattern by feeding the printed pattern through a fusing system operated at a temperature of about 20° C. to about 130° C. above the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic binder and at least 120° C. at a minimum, a pressure of from about 50 psi to about 1500 psi, and a feed rate through the fusing system of about 1 m/min to about 100 m/min. The method may be done continuously. The method improves the sheet resistivity of the printed ink.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a device access method, an access point, and an access device. The method includes: generating, by an access point, a broadcast frame, where the broadcast frame includes a feature identifier of an access device; and sending, by the access point, the broadcast frame, so that the access device that receives the broadcast frame and corresponds to the feature identifier in the broadcast frame accesses the access point. The present invention may be adopted to resolve a problem that numerous conflicts occur when numerous terminals simultaneously access a network, so that the terminals can successfully access the network.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for identifying a tampered webpage and identifying a hijacked web address. The method for identifying a tampered webpage comprises: by simulating a mode of inputting a URL in an address bar of a browser, initiating a request to access a target webpage, and determining obtained page content as the first page content; by simulating a mode of jumping from a link, initiating a request to access the target webpage, and determining obtained page content as the second page content; comparing the first page content with the second page content to obtain a comparison result; and identifying, according to the comparison result, whether the target webpage is a tampered webpage. The present invention can effectively identify whether a target webpage is a tampered webpage, so that an effective means for determining whether a target webpage is tampered is provided to a user and computer services.
