  • Publication number: 20210388434
Abstract: Compositions, methods and kits are provided for identifying the presence and location of a target in chromosomal DNA. A nicking endonuclease fused to a binding domain that binds to a constant region of an antibody (NEFP) is provided that may be used for binding to a target directly or via an antibody that binds to the target. The target may be a protein or structural feature of the DNA and its presence and location may correspond to a phenotype and/or pathology in a biopsy or other cell sample for diagnostic purposes. The background is reduced by the addition of a glycoaminoglycan (GAG) that reversibly inhibits binding of the NEFP to DNA. Nick translation in the presence of a strand displacing polymerase enables the incorporation of tagged nucleotides that (i) blocks re-nicking; (ii) facilitates immobilization of DNA fragments around the target for sequencing; and/or (iii) enables dye labelling of the chromosomal DNA within the cell nuclei for analysis by microscopy.

  • Publication number: 20210390742
Abstract: For controlling reconstruction in emission tomography, the quality of data for detected emissions and/or the application controls the settings used in reconstruction. For example, a count density of the detected emissions is used to control the number of iterations in reconstruction to more likely avoid over and under fitting. The count density may be adaptively determined by re-binning through pixel size adjustment to find a smallest pixel size providing a sufficient count density. As another example, the detected data may have poor quality due to motion or high body mass index (BMI) of the patient, so the reconstruction is set to perform differently (e.g., less smoothing for high motion or a different number of iterations for high BMI). The quality of the data may be used in conjunction with the application or task for imaging the patient to control the reconstruction.

  • Publication number: 20210392343
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information for a plurality of first blocks in a current coded picture that is a part of a coded video sequence. The prediction information indicates that the plurality of first blocks is coded in a local illumination compensation (LIC) mode. The processing circuitry selects a neighboring region for each of the plurality of first blocks. The selected neighboring region and the respective first block form a second block. The processing circuitry performs an inter prediction for the plurality of second blocks in parallel. The processing circuitry determines a set of LIC parameters for each of the plurality of first blocks based on the selected neighboring region of the respective first block and reconstructs the plurality of first blocks based on the sets of LIC parameters.
