    Abstract: Systems and methods for determining available current for a battery in a portable electronic device. One method includes, in response to determining that a received current level of an auxiliary supply rail is equal to or below a predetermined threshold, acquiring a plurality of unloaded voltages for the battery and calculating an unloaded voltage based on the unloaded voltages. The method includes activating a switchable load coupled between the battery and ground, acquiring a plurality of loaded voltages for the battery, and calculating a loaded voltage based on the loaded voltages. The method includes calculating an impedance for the battery based on the unloaded and loaded voltages and an impedance for the switchable load. The method includes determining a current budget based on the impedance, a minimum operating voltage, and a maximum allowable current draw, and adjusting an operating parameter of the portable electronic device based on the current budget.

    Abstract: Method of scrambling signals, transmission point device, and user equipment using the method are provided. The method includes: sending an ID table to a user equipment through higher layer signaling, the ID table being a subset of the whole ID space and containing available IDs for the user equipment; notifying the user equipment an ID in the ID table to be used through physical layer signaling or UE specific higher layer signaling; generating a random seed based on the notified ID; initializing a scrambling sequence by the random seed; and scrambling the signals with the initialized scrambling sequence. The method of the disclosure, by combining physical layer signaling and higher layer signaling, may notify the used group ID and the blind detection space to a UE, wherein the blind detection for the UE is enabled and the signaling overhead is reduced.

    Abstract: A system and method for routing of 5G mobile data traffic along a routing path in an Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) network having requisite Quality of Service (QoS). A proxy is deployed in the IPX network to intercept Session Create request and response messages exchanges between the home network and the visited network. The routing platform extracts Single-Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI) attribute and uses this attribute and the geographic locations of the visited network and the home network to select a routing path in the IPX network having requisite QoS for the network slice use case. The routing platform uses layer-3 routing technique to anchor User Plane Function (UPF) Proxies deployed at different routing paths in the IPX network. Alternately, the routing platform uses layer-2 routing technique, with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controller and SDN-switches to route traffic via the selected routing path in the IPX network.

    Abstract: An interactive method for generating strokes with Chinese ink painting style, includes steps: obtaining an image including a pattern as an image object; obtaining a delimiting operation delimiting at least one stroke sample on a pre-stored ink painting sample, obtaining a basic outline forming a preliminary basic path of a stroke to be generated and drawn by a user on the image object; correcting stroke outlines in the stroke sample to obtain accurate stroke samples as candidate stroke samples; using the candidate stroke samples as references to generate morphological sample groups; correcting the preliminary basic path to obtain an accurate basic path; selecting morphological samples best matching the accurate basic path in the morphological sample groups as final stroke samples; and mapping style features of the final stroke samples onto the accurate basic path to generate an output image with Chinese ink painting style.

    Abstract: Determining a device's location in a space in real time is computing intensive. To offload some of the workload in conducting this hyperlocation, the access points in the network conduct some of process in determining the location of a device. The cloud determines a restricted AoA search area based on previous client locations. After this determination, a three-dimensional (3D) AoA search is conducted by each AP in the restricted area (restricted by a range of azimuth directions) for a device. Finally, each AP reports a location(s) for the device, which comprises weights for selected angular sectors. The cloud can then construct a probability heat map for location computation from the weights provided from each AP for the device.
