    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a semiconductor green laser. The semiconductor green laser, from bottom to top, comprising a substrate, a lower limiting layer, a lower waveguide layer, an active layer, an upper waveguide layer, and an upper limiting layer. The active layer is a quantum well composed of well layers and barrier layers. Each of the well layers includes any one of AlInGaN, AlInN, AlGaN, AlN, InN, InGaN, and GaN, or any combination thereof. Each of the barrier layers includes any one of AlInGaN, AlInN, AlGaN, AlN, InN, InGaN, and GaN, or any combination thereof. An electron effective mass of each of the well layers is less than an electron effective mass of each of the barrier layers. A spontaneous polarization coefficient of each of the well layers is less than a spontaneous polarization coefficient of each of the barrier layers.

    Abstract: A computerized method is provided for detecting whether a subject is experiencing an event (e.g., an eating event or a scratching event). The method may comprise receiving time-series data derived from data recorded by an actigraphy device worn on a wrist of the subject and computing a set of birth and death coordinates for each topological feature of a plurality of topological features in the received time-series data. The method may further comprise calculating a digital feature based on the computed set of birth and death coordinates and determining whether the subject is experiencing the event based on the calculated digital feature. In some embodiments, methods are also provided for using Bayesian methods for selecting digital features to use in detecting whether the subject is experiencing the event.

    Abstract: A centimeter-resolution integrated photonic millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar chip operating in the mmWave V band based on a 4-inch wafer-scale thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) technology is provided. The fabricated TFLN photonic mmWave integrated circuit has a first electro-optic modulator (EOM) capable of generating a broadband linear frequency modulated mmWave radar waveform through optical frequency multiplication of a low-frequency input signal, and a second EOM for frequency de-chirp of the reflected echo wave, thereby greatly relieving bandwidth requirements for the digital-to-analog converter in the transmitter and analog-to-digital converter in the receiver. In the absence of optical and electrical filters, the radar chip features continuous on-demand tunability of the center frequency and bandwidth, currently only limited by the bandwidths of electrical amplifiers.
