  • Publication number: 20160098283
Abstract: Methods and systems for platform configuration management may use a platform configuration register (PCR) stored on a trusted platform module (TPM) included with an information handling system. A basic input/output system (BIOS) may include instructions to generate a first PCR value based on BIOS settings while a user is operating the BIOS. When the first PCR value indicates a change from a previous PCR value stored in the PCR, an alert may be displayed to the user and sent to a network administrator. The BIOS may display an indication of a mapping of BIOS settings to the first PCR value.

  • Publication number: 20160070655
Abstract: An information handling system and method performs Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) interception and pre-processing of data associated with block input/output (I/O) commands targeting encrypted storage devices. A UEFI interceptor block (IB) I/O driver intercepts each block I/O command targeting block addresses on a storage device and identifies whether any of the target block addresses is encrypted. In response to identifying an encrypted block address among the target block addresses, the UEFI IB I/O driver forwards data associated with the encrypted block address to an encryption-decryption module to perform one of an encryption and a decryption of the data. Final handling of the block I/O command is performed using a block I/O driver chained to the UEFI IB I/O driver. Data associated with I/O commands targeting encrypted block addresses is first processed by the encryption-decryption module before final handling of the I/O command is performed by the block I/O driver.

  • Patent number: 9271936
Abstract: A method for synthesizing a mesoporous silica nanoparticle, a mesoporous silica nanoparticle, and applications thereof are provided. The method includes fractionating a mesoporous silica nanoparticle suspension to produce size-fractionated mesoporous silica nanoparticle. The method further includes etching the size-fractionated mesoporous silica nanoparticle to produce synthesized mesoporous silica nanoparticle having a hollow, porous morphology configured to receive one of a therapeutic agent and an imaging material. The etching includes differential etching of silica from areas of low polymeric density within the mesoporous silica nanoparticle and re-depositing of the silica in areas of higher polymeric density existing near the surface of the mesoporous silica nanoparticle. A target material is loaded into the synthesized mesoporous silica nanoparticle and a controlled released of the target material is provided by decreasing the physiological pH of the surface of the mesoporous silica nanoparticle.

  • Publication number: 20160047687
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for determining distances inside a liquid filled container such as an oil tank. A combined ultrasonic signal receiver/transmitter with an attached reflector is immersed in the liquid. An ultrasonic signal is then transmitted from the receiver/transmitter and reflected ultrasonic signals are then received. One of the reflected signals is reflected off of the attached reflector and this reflected signal is then used to determine the signal's velocity and to thereby self-calibrate the system. Once the velocity in the liquid is known, the other reflected signals can then be used to determine the distance between the receiver/transmitter and at least one point of interest in the container.

  • Publication number: 20150206446
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for authoring, sharing, and consuming online courses. A lesson creation extension executing in conjunction with a presentation application can be utilized to create an augmented presentation document having one or more slides. A video recording of a presentation of the slides may be made and associated with the slides. Digital ink made on the slides may also be recorded. The slides might also be created to include quizzes, interactive labs, and other types of interactive content. The augmented presentation document can then be published to a portal system for sharing. A lesson player can be utilized to play back the lesson from the portal system. During playback, the recorded audio, video and digital ink are played back in synchronization by the lesson player.

  • Patent number: 8942928
Abstract: Methods and are provided for determining, monitoring or detecting particle size distribution of a medium. An example method includes comparing a measured ultrasound attenuation spectrum of the medium with a calculated attenuation spectrum, where the calculated attenuation spectrum is obtained by accounting for the scattering of ultrasound waves into the receiver. The methods of the present invention can be used to determine particle size distribution in a dense suspension of particles in the intermediate wavelength regime. In other aspects, methods of the present invention may also be used to monitor changes in particle size distribution, infer the shape of particles, provide feedback to a process involving a change in particle size, and determine the completion of a dissolution process.

  • Publication number: 20140203129
Abstract: Some of the embodiments described herein relate to liner elements such as lifter bars that can be used in grinding mills. In one example, a lifter bar has a top elastomeric layer and a bottom elastomeric layer, the composition of the top elastomeric layer being different from that of the bottom elastomeric layer. In another example, a lifter bar is constructed from carbon black-reinforced natural rubber and has a leading face and a protrusion at a top region of the leading face. In a further example, a lifter bar is fabricated from carbon black-reinforced natural rubber and has a leading face geometry such that face angle ? remains 25° or less over an operational period measured form the time the lifter bar is new, until the height of the lifter bar is reduced by a certain amount, e.g., by 80%. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing an elastomeric liner element and for grinding an ore.
