  • Publication number: 20230074360
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device (e.g., a vehicle) in wireless communications system (e.g., a cellular-vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system) may support adaptive radar transmissions based on information received in a public safety message. The communication device may use information included in the public safety message to adapt radar transmissions to enable timely detection of vulnerable road users (VRUs). In some examples, based on a location and a velocity estimate provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to experience a trade-off between range and velocity estimation performance. Additionally or alternatively, based on positional accuracy estimates provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to improve beamforming.

  • Patent number: 11602006
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), may receive, at a processing layer of the UE, sets of discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle parameters from a corresponding set of applications at an application layer of the UE. The UE may determine, based on the sets of DRX parameters, a common DRX cycle to satisfy each of the sets of applications. The UE may transmit the common DRX cycle to one or more layers in the user plane protocol stack of the UE. A base station may also receive a request, from the UE, for a set of DRX cycle parameters that satisfies the common DRX cycle of the UE. The base station may transmit an indication of the set of DRX parameters, and receive, from the UE, a confirmation of a DRX cycle associated with the set of DRX cycle parameters.

  • Publication number: 20230068083
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may be associated with a reconfigurable surface for reflecting transmissions between second and third UEs (e.g., over sidelink resources). In one example, the first UE may transmit signaling indicating that retransmissions of a first message transmitted between a second and third UE and detected by the first UE may be reflected by the reconfigurable surface associated with the first UE. In another example, the first UE may receive a request from a second UE for signal enhancement using a reconfigurable surface, the request associated with a future transmission by the second UE to a third UE. In either case, the UE may determine to perform signal enhancement using a reconfigurable surface and may then reconfigure the reconfigurable surface for reflecting transmissions or retransmissions from the second UE to the third UE.

  • Publication number: 20230056390
Abstract: Various aspects relate to vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communication and collision avoidance using data association of data from different vehicle-to-everything (V2X) devices. In some aspects, a V2X device (e.g., a vehicle) can determine or estimate the location of a pedestrian by associating data pertaining to the pedestrian from multiple V2X devices and sensors. The association of data can reduce the uncertainties of the V2X device in the determination of the pedestrian's location. A vehicle V2X device can send out a warning indication or alert to the pedestrian or a V2X device of the pedestrian.

  • Publication number: 20230051788
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a cross-component carrier or cross-beam quasi co-location (QCL) configuration in a sidelink carrier aggregation configuration. For example, a first beam on a first component carrier may be QCLed with a second beam on a second component carrier. The first beam may have a different beam width than the second beam or be in a different frequency range than the first beam, or both. If an application at the UE requests the UE to configure a beam on the second component carrier, the UE may use some parameters used to receive on the first component carrier to communicate using the second beam on the second component carrier.

  • Patent number: 11558714
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) initiates a positioning session based on ranging in a distributed system of UEs. The positioning session includes a plurality of anchor UEs with known positions that provide information including ranging information and their positions to the initiator UE in post-ranging messages. The initiator UE identifies anchor UEs that provide information that does not significantly contribute to the final position estimate for the initiator UE. The initiator UE, for example, may generate position estimates and associated accuracy levels for different subsets of anchor UEs and may use the accuracy levels to identify a subset of anchor UEs that may be used for positioning in place of the full set of anchor UEs without a significant loss of accuracy. Selected UEs are excluded from providing post-ranging messages in subsequent positioning sessions to reduce signaling overhead and improve efficiency.
