  • Patent number: 7232894
Abstract: Methods for the production of recombinant peptides comprise fermenting cells to produce recombinant peptides. A metal salt is added to a concentrate of the fermented cells after the fermentation step, prior to peptide isolation, and the pH of the cell concentrate after the addition of the metal salt is less than or equal to 7, thereby reducing the amount of trifulsides formed in the production of the recombinant peptide, with the proviso that the production does not include conversion of formed trifulside peptide into native peptide form after the addition of the metal salt. In one embodiment, the recombinant peptide is recombinant growth hormone.

  • Publication number: 20060149440
Abstract: The present invention concerns a sensor system for monitoring at least the wear of lining material of a disc brake. It may also be used to monitor the stroke of the brake actuator. The sensor system receives signals from a first external and/or internal means and a second sensor means indicative of at least two different conditions of the brake. The major part of the sensor system is received on a cap to be fixed to the caliper and giving a measuring reference. The first means monitors the occurrence of a brake movement. The second sensor means monitors the actual position of a part indicating the wear of the brake lining material and/or the stroke of the brake actuator.

  • Publication number: 20050189182
Abstract: The present invention concerns a digital sensor for monitoring the wear of lining material of a disc brake. The sensor is to be attached to the end of an adjusting shaft of an adjusting mechanism, which mechanism is used for adjusting the position of brake pads in relation to the brake disc. The sensor has two or more code parts of which one is rotated continuously by rotation of the adjustment shaft. The code parts have paths of codes to be read by detectors placed on a PCB. The PCB has circuitry to relate the position of the sensor to the wear of the lining material.

  • Publication number: 20020160717
Abstract: The invention relates to: A chamber (101, 201, 301, 401) for processing electronic devices (414), the use of such a chamber and a method. The object of the present invention is to provide a flexible system for and method of decreasing the processing time per unit of electronic devices during production and test, thus reducing costs. The problem is solved in that the chamber (101, 201, 301, 401) is adapted for handling several devices (414) simultaneously and said processing comprises a transfer of airborne signals (429, 430, 431). This has the advantage of allowing a simultaneous test under controlled and homogeneous conditions. The invention may be used in the production and test of electronic devices such as mobile communications devices.

  • Patent number: 5974863
Abstract: Method and device for indicating movements of gas bubbles in a liquid, droplets of liquid in a gas or a level of liquid, the liquid or the gas forming a medium in a conduit (15) or a container. Microwave signals of a predetermined frequency are transmitted through a section (G) of the conduit (15) or the container (16) that is pervious to microwaves toward said medium, and microwave signals reflected from the medium are received. Received microwave signals are then utilized to indicate presence of gas bubbles, droplets, or a level of a liquid moving in said conduit (15) or said container (16).Said conduit (15) is designed with a section (G) that is pervious to microwaves, and a microwave transmitter (S) is provided to transmit microwave signals towards said section (G). A microwave receiver (M) is provided to receive microwave signals that are reflected from the medium, and said microwave receiver (M) is operatively connected to a detector (6).

  • Patent number: 5828659
Abstract: A mobile station can be connected to more than one base station in a procedure known as macro-diversity. In order to synchronize the signals for a specific cellular call connection, the time difference between the connected base station's signal and a macro-diversity candidate base station's signal is measured by a mobile station. This measurement is then transmitted to the network. The measurements can be used to achieve synchronization via frame staggering.

  • Patent number: 5144754
Abstract: A funnel-shaped arrangement (1) for drying and/or cooling vehicles or parts thereof. The funnel-shaped arrangement (1) is longitudinally divided into a number of sections each of which is provided with a plurality, preferably 60-250, of nozzles (7,20,21,22,23,24,25) which are substantially evenly distributed over the curved inner surface of the section and through which the gases are supplied and blown against the vehicle or the parts thereof passing through the arrangement (1), the pressure drop of the gases is measured across the nozzles (7,20,21,22,23,24,25) and the temperature of the gases before the nozzles (7,20,21,22,23,24,25). The measured pressure drop values are then compared with predetermined desired values corresponding to the prevailing temperature, whereupon a pressure increase or a pressure reduction signal is supplied to a first pressure changing means (29) for suplying the gases to the arrangement (1), depending on whether the measured values are below or above the desired values.

  • Patent number: 5139131
Abstract: A conveyor installation has a track (3) driven to run endlessly about two deflector wheels (100, 101) and supported by guide rails (1, 1', 2), for the conveyance of workpiece carriers which are designed for instance as boxes to accommodate packagings for liquids. The track (3) has two straight portions (3a, 3b). So that it is possible without any cumbersome dismantling work to clean such an installation thoroughly while at the same time providing accurate guidance for the workpieces being conveyed, positioning them precisely at the processing stations, it is according to the invention proposed that the track (3) comprise, closed in itself, a row of links (4) which have their end faces (16) bearing one on another and in which there are recesses for engagement with the guide rails (1, 1', 2) which support the links (4) in the straight portions (3a, 3b) from opposite sides and in the curved portions (3c, 3d) from outside and in that one workpiece carrier is inseparably mounted on each link (4).
