Abstract: The invention relates to methods and apparatus for fabricating a three-dimensional object from a representation of the object stored in memory. The apparatus includes a stationary build table for receiving successive layers of a build material and at least one movable printhead disposed above the build table. The printhead deposits a binding material in a predetermined pattern on each successive layer of the build material to form the three-dimensional object.

Abstract: The invention relates mainly to a hairspring intended to equip the balance wheel of a mechanical timepiece. It is in the form of a spiraled rod (10) cut from an {001} single-crystal silicon plate. Its structure and its dimensions are calculated so as to minimize the thermal drift of the hairspring/balance-wheel assembly by means of the first and second thermal coefficients of its spring constant.

Abstract: A plate-link chain formed from short plate links and long plate links. The long plate links have an extension at one end. The installation direction of the long plate links is such that their extensions overlap plate links in an adjacent row and that are next in order in the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain, when viewed from the side of the chain. The overlap permits the plate links to have defined positions relative to adjacent plate links by minimizing the ability of adjacent plate links to shift laterally relative to each other.

Abstract: There is provided a system for re-orienting erected cartons having an opening through which primary containers, such as bottles or cans, in a “unit” are to be inserted. The erected cartons are adapted to rotate to make the opening accessible to bottle loading equipment only in a manner which ensures that the geometry of the opening is not deformed from that of the originally erected carton.

An indication of a transaction alert or an analytical alert is received from a user. Abstract: In one method, one or more excitation signals with the same or different frequencies are applied to a biological object such as a tissue, simultaneously or consequently. Response signals are then cross-correlated with delayed excitation signals. Cross-correlation products are then auto-correlated. Cross-correlation products correspond to conditions of the tissue and auto-correlation product corresponds to changes in the conditions. Measuring electrical characteristics at low, intermediate and high frequency is also disclosed. At low frequency, the current flows mostly through the extracellular liquid of tissue. At high frequency, the current passes through the cell membranes freely enough to dominate the overall impedance. At both frequencies, the delay is less than 1/30 of the period of the respective signal. The intermediate frequency between the low frequency and the high frequency carries information about quick changes in the condition of the tissue.

The temperature of the food simulant changes in the same way as food stored in its vicinity and is unaffected by the movement of the ambient air which varies in temperature dramatically. This allows an actual reading and recording of stored food temperature and the regulation of the temperature within a refrigerated space by a thermostat (16). Its uses are mainly for frozen, chilled and refrigerated food, and the reading of temperature of food cooked for example in micro-wave ovens.

Abstract: Computer-assisted navigation is achieved with component-oriented programming and instructions that provide a distributed component programming navigation system. The computer-assisted navigation is achieved with a computing device having program memory. Operationally, the component-oriented application loaded in the memory provides a distributed navigation system comprising a User Interface component, a Service Manager component, a User Positioning category of components that provides a user position based on navigation sensor data, and a Mapping category of components that accesses a map database and places the user position on a road segment of the map database. The components within the component-oriented application are managed by the service manager component to perform distributed navigation services.

Abstract: A printer system includes a general purpose input/output (GPIO) system that can be driven by any internal printing, encoding or verification event or by external events. Through a unique mapping capability the GPIO system can, through a series of logical functions, generate output events (“actions”) to drive external devices or to control printer internal activities. In one embodiment, the GPIO detects the type of data stream and only the printer capable of using and printing with the data stream prints the job. Examples include an RFID-enabled printer and a bar code printer.

Abstract: A transmission arrangement includes a step-up frequency mixer that converts a modulation signal to a transmission frequency. The step-up frequency mixer is arranged within a phase locked loop that further comprises a frequency divider that is likewise supplied with the modulation data, combined with channel pre-selection data, for the purposes of compensation. This arrangement prevents low-frequency components of the modulation signal from being eliminated by the phase locked loop. In addition, noise components and undesirable interference frequency components that are produced in the mixer are suppressed by the phase locked loop.
