  • Publication number: 20250102920
Abstract: A method for heating an optical element in an optical system, such as in a microlithographic projection exposure system comprises using a thermal manipulator to introduce a heating power into the optical element to produce a thermally induced deformation. Before starting operation of the optical system in which useful light impinges on the optical element, the heating power is adjusted with respect to a desired state of the optical element in which a first optical aberration is at least partially compensated. After starting operation of the optical system, the heating power is regulated to the desired state depending on the heat load of the useful light impinging on the optical element. The heating power is regulated in such a way that the average temperature of the optical element remains constant up to a maximum deviation of 0.5 K.

  • Publication number: 20250107044
Abstract: Cooling provided by a thermal management system may be controlled actively to reduce or prevent entering a dry out state. The systems and methods described herein include monitoring temperature metrics and identifying or predicting the onset of a dry out state, and temperature modulation mechanism may be controlled to cause an increase in the temperature of the heat pipe or vapor chamber. By controlling a temperature modulation mechanism to increase the operating temperature, the viscosity of the liquid in the thermal management approach is decreased, which improves its capillary flow and return rate back to the evaporator. By leveraging this temperature-dependent behavior, this thermal control approach may restore cooling capacity by managing the thermal management approach temperature due to a dry out state, and reduce or minimize the computing device performance degradation associated with a dry out state.

  • Publication number: 20250106676
Abstract: Examples perform regulatory-compliant traffic checks for a wider bandwidth than a WLAN channel an AP is currently operating over before temporarily increasing the WLAN channel to the wider bandwidth to serve Wi-Fi ranging requests with improved precision. An example AP may: (1) while performing non-ranging Wi-Fi operations over a WLAN channel of a first bandwidth, perform a regulatory-compliant traffic check to determine whether a second bandwidth is clear of priority traffic, wherein the second bandwidth is wider than the first bandwidth; (2) responsive to receiving a Wi-Fi ranging request and determining the second bandwidth is clear of priority traffic, modify the WLAN channel from the first bandwidth to the second bandwidth to serve the Wi-Fi ranging request; and (3) upon completed service of the Wi-Fi ranging request, restore the WLAN channel to the first bandwidth for performing non-ranging Wi-Fi operations.

  • Patent number: 12261237
Abstract: Photovoltaic devices with very high breakdown voltages are described herein. Typical commercial silicon photovoltaic devices have breakdown voltages below 50-100 volts (V). Even though such devices have bypass diodes to prevent photovoltaic cells from going into breakdown, the bypass diodes have high failure rates, leading to unreliable devices. A high-efficiency silicon photovoltaic cell is provided with very high breakdown voltages. By combining a device architecture with very low surface recombination and silicon wafers with high bulk resistivity (above 10 ohms centimeter (?-cm)), embodiments described herein achieve breakdown voltages close to 1000 V. These photovoltaic cells with high breakdown voltages improve the reliability of photovoltaic devices, while reducing their design complexity and cost.

  • Patent number: 12256982
Abstract: A method for estimating a thickness of cardiac tissue undergoing ablation includes the steps of (a) applying a sequence of ablation pulses to a region of the cardiac tissue, so as to create a lesion, and (b) for a given ablation pulse in the sequence, an incremental depth added to the lesion due to the given ablation pulse is estimated. A cumulative depth of the lesion is estimated based on the cumulative depth prior to the given pulse, and on the incremental depth. An amplitude of an electrogram signal at the region is assessed after applying the given ablation pulse, and, if the amplitude exceeds a predefined threshold, an estimate of the thickness is set to be at least the cumulative depth.

  • Patent number: 12262227
Abstract: A Cognitive Manager (CM) controls a RAN. The CM obtains from the RAN a set of local needs identifying a radio communication performance criterion that is to be satisfied. A set of neighbor needs are obtained from a neighbor CM. An event message is received from the RAN containing a radio metric that does not presently satisfy at least one of the set of local needs. A set of present neighbor improvement action drives being performed or will be performed to satisfy the set of neighbor needs, are obtained from the neighbor CM. A combination of the set of local needs, the set of the neighbor needs, the set of present neighbor improvement action drives, and the radio metric, is used to determine a local improvement action drive that is to be performed by the RAN. An adjustment report identifying the local improvement action drive is provided to the RAN.
