  • Patent number: 12287506
Abstract: An illumination device for a display screen operable in an open-viewing mode B1 and a restricted-viewing mode B2 where light is emitted in a limited angular range. It includes a backlight emitting the limited-angular-range light, a plate-shaped light guide with large surfaces and narrow connecting sides in front of the backlight in a viewing direction. The light guide has outcoupling elements on the surfaces or within its volume, and is at least 50% transparent to backlight light. Outcoupling elements have a function surface for coupling out light guide light. Illuminants are arranged laterally of the narrow sides. The backlight is on and the illuminants off in mode B2, and the illuminants are on in mode B1. Some outcoupling elements have a structure causing scattering in a preferential direction that is stronger by a factor of at least 1.2 than in a direction perpendicular to the preferential direction, yielding anisotropic scattering.

  • Patent number: 12286484
Abstract: Targeting metastasis stem cells through a fatty acid receptor. The disclosure provides the use of blockers or inhibitors of CD36 activity or expression for the treatment of oral squamous cell cancer (OSCC), particularly for the treatment of generated metastases and for diminish is generation from primary tumours. Apart from shRNAs, anti-CD36 antibodies are provided as blockers or inhibitors, especially those that block the binding of CD36 to oxidized LDL and fatty acids and their incorporation into cells, because the promotion of their transport is indicated as the mechanism by which CD36 promote metastases dissemination and growth. Also provided is a method for identifying candidates to anticancer agents, particularly for OSCC metastasis, among those that promote in CD36+ cells, in vivo or in vitro, effects associated to CD36 depletion or blocking such as decrease of growth accumulation of lipid droplets and decrease of size in the case of metastases.

  • Patent number: 12285206
Abstract: A method includes inserting an array of multiple electrodes, fitted at a distal end of a catheter, into a cavity in an organ of a patient. The array is brought into contact with an inner surface of the cavity. An input is received from a user, the input specifying one or more tissue segments to be ablated on the inner surface. In response to the input, using a processor, one or more pairs of the electrodes in the array are selected that, when driven with irreversible electroporation (IRE) signals, would ablate the specified tissue segments. The specified tissue segments are ablated by applying the IRE signals to the pairs of the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 12287799
Abstract: Disclosed methods and systems allow a central server to monitor electronic units of work accessible to a group of computers and generate a nodal data structure representing the units of work. The server then uses various protocols, such as hashing algorithms and/or executing artificial intelligence and machine learning models to identify similar and/or related units of work. The server then merges/links the nodes corresponding to the similar/related units of work. The server also monitors all user activities. When a user or a software system/service accesses electronic content on his, her, or its electronic device, the server identifies a node corresponding to the accessed electronic content and associated unit(s) of work and presents searchable data and actions related to the identified node and any related/linked nodes.

  • Patent number: 12285991
Abstract: According to one aspect, a thermal system of a vehicle which provides cooling to within the vehicle, e.g., within a driver and passenger carrying cabin or compartment, is effectively leveraged to provide cooling capabilities to autonomous vehicle systems. Some coolant flowing through a coolant loop included in the thermal system of a vehicle may be diverted to an offshoot loop which provides cooling to coolant included in a coolant loop configured to cool autonomous vehicle systems, e.g., a compute system that is part of an autonomous vehicle. The coolant from the thermal system of the vehicle may flow past coolant from the coolant loop configured to cool autonomous vehicle systems, and the cooled coolant from the coolant loop configured to cool the autonomous vehicle systems may flow near the autonomous vehicle systems to cool the autonomous vehicle systems.

  • Patent number: 12286214
Abstract: Described herein are methods and systems to dampen oscillations of a payload coupled to a tether of a winch system arranged on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). For example, the UAV's control system may dampen the oscillations by causing the UAV to switch to a forward flight mode in which movement of the UAV results in drag on the payload, thereby damping the oscillations. In another example, the control system may cause the UAV to reduce an extent flight stabilization along at least one dimension, thereby resulting in damping of the detected oscillations due to energy dissipation during movement of the UAV along the dimension. In this way, the control system could select and carry out one or more such techniques, and could do so during retraction and/or deployment of the tether.

  • Patent number: 12285902
Abstract: A method for producing a structural component part (1) from a fiber-reinforced plastic according to a three-dimensional winding process. Threadlike or strand-shaped fiber material (12) supplied on at least one bobbin (18) is wound around at least one filament carrier (11) in at least one winding pattern by at least one computer-controlled winding device (10). The fiber material (12) is laid down on the filament carrier (11) with a filament tensile force (FZN) that is preadjusted by a control device (14). The filament tensile force (FZist) is controlled depending on location and/or depending on path in order to take into account specific lay-down locations (29) on the filament carrier (11) in which a lay-down path (28) predefined by the winding pattern is departed from owing to the local geometry at preadjusted filament tensile force (FZN).
