    Abstract: The invention relates to a system for the data transmission of digital transmission data (17, 18) between a first digital protective device (1) and a second digital protective device (9) on a section (A) of an energy supply line (2) in a transmission direction (15) and in a reception direction (16). The first digital protective device (1) is connected to an end (6) of an electrical data transmission line (7) via a first coupling device (5). The second digital protective device (9) is connected to the other end (12) of the electrical data transmission line (7) via a second coupling device (11). In order to establish data transmission with little complication, the data transmission line (7) is one-paired, and both coupling devices (5, 11) are adapted to enable transmission of digital transmission data in the transmission and reception direction (15 or 16) on the one-paired data transmission line (7) in the manner of a digital telecommunication transmission.
