  • Publication number: 20110265910
Abstract: An eccentric funnel (1) for feeding liquid aluminum to the fill chamber of a die casting machine is arranged above the same and includes an upper part (2) designed as a feed channel (4) and connected to a lower part designed as a filling tube (3). Following a straight starting piece (5), the feed channel (4) continues with ever increasing curvature, until it ends over the opening of the filling tube (3) in congruence therewith. In this way, the aluminum is given a rotary motion, whereby a homogeneous flow is achieved. Over the filling tube (3), the speed of the aluminum is drastically reduced, so that it is conducted at a low impact speed downward into the filling chamber, taking up the opening surface of the filling tube (3). In this way, washout and erosion is prevented in the filling chamber, thereby achieving a long service life of the die casting machine.

  • Publication number: 20110160979
Abstract: An estimation unit can estimate, on a real-time basis, a maximum power generation capacity of a single cycle or combined cycle gas turbine power plant. For example, the actual power output and the maximum power generation capacity can be calculated relying on a mathematical process model. Subsequently, the calculated actual power output can be compared with the measured power output yielding a model-estimation error. Based on the model-estimation error, a correction signal can be deduced, to correct the calculated maximum power generation capacity. A controller can maintain a specified power reserve. The controller can use an estimate of the maximum power generation capacity as a reference, subtract a load offset, and apply the resulting signal as upper limit of the load set-point.

  • Publication number: 20110043904
Abstract: A tube of a surgical microscope has a base part, intermediate part, pivotable about a rotational axis on the base part, and an ocular part pivotable about a rotational axis on the intermediate part. The imaging beam path is guided through the base part, intermediate part and pivotable ocular part. The tube has a tube lens system which transfers a parallel imaging beam path into an intermediate image. The parallel imaging beam path enters via an opening in a connecting piece of the base part. The tube has a first displaceable mirror element movable about the rotational axis on the base part. The tube has a further displaceable mirror element movable on the intermediate part about the rotational axis. The first mirror element directs the imaging beam path to the further mirror element. The first mirror element and further mirror element are mounted in the imaging beam path between a lens unit having positive refractive power and a lens unit having negative refractive power.

  • Patent number: 7878091
Abstract: A screwdriving tool includes a gear head and a drive arm. The gear head forms a gear housing, in which a free wheel or ratchet gear having an output rotational axis is arranged. A front side of the gear head includes an output coupling, in the shape of a polygon. The drive arm can be pivoted about a pivot axis, which is substantially transverse to the output rotational axis, from a quick-action screwdriver position, in which the drive arm is in the output rotational axis, into a power-action screwdriver position, in which the drive arm extends substantially transversely to the output rotational axis and can be fixed in both pivot positions by detents. The detents can be moved from a detent position into a release position by means of an actuating member associated with the drive arm.

  • Patent number: 7469909
Abstract: A chuck for receiving tools (1) that are operated by rotating around the axis thereof, particularly screwdriver bits, and having an insertion section (3) which is provided with a receiving cavity (2) having a non-circular cross-sectional area (3). The tool can be locked in the cavity (2) by a holding element (4) which is assigned to the cavity wall in order to prevent the tool from being withdrawn from the cavity (2). The holding element (4) can be deactivated by displacing an actuating member in a form of an actuating sleeve (5). The tool (1) rests backwards against the cavity (2). The tool (1) can be displaced from the resting position in the direction of the opening of the cavity (2) by actuating the actuating sleeve (5). In order to facilitate removal of the bit, the chuck also comprises components (15, 16, 17) for releasing the face (1) of the bit, and a magnet (9) which retains the bit in the cavity from the resting position.

  • Patent number: 7287449
Abstract: Screwing tool (1) having a grip (2) and a shank (3), which is received removably in a cavity (4) open toward an end of the grip (2) and which at its free end has an actuating portion (5). The shank (3) is retained in a position of use such that it is fixed in terms of rotation on the grip, to avoid sliding in the axial direction, by a retaining element (14) associated with the grip (2).
