  • Publication number: 20060098679
Abstract: A method and apparatus that reduces the likelihood of having a high peak power in any one bit position of code multiplexed downlink control channel symbols is described herein. An exemplary method includes selecting a different bit-level spreading sequence for each mobile terminal from a set of orthogonal bit-level spreading sequences, where code values in any one bit position are not the same for all of the bit-level spreading sequences in the set. When a code multiplexing system uses the selected bit-level spreading sequences from the sequence set to code multiplex the downlink control channel symbols, the resulting combined signal has a lower likelihood of having a high peak power.

  • Publication number: 20060100539
Abstract: A method of measuring of an electrical bio-impedance, the method being characterized in that a symmetrical bipolar pulse-form periodical excitation signal (electrical current or voltage) is applied to the input (11) of the bio-object (1), a corresponding reaction of the bio-object to the mentioned excitation signal is measured from the output (12), which is connected to the input (201) of the synchronous detector (200). A symmetrical bipolar pulse-form periodical signal is also applied to the reference input (202) of the synchronous detector (200), whereby both pulse-form signals are shortened by the predetermined time interval in each half period of the signal, said time intervals being different for the excitation and reference signals. The proposed method ensures an increased accuracy of the impedance analysis by decreasing the influence of the higher harmonics in the spectra of the excitation and reference signals of the synchronous detectors to the measurement result.

  • Publication number: 20060096666
Abstract: A manual log splitting device for splitting a log has a first assembly including a base plate for resting of the log during splitting thereof and a first upright supported by and extending upwardly from the base plate. A second assembly having an upright sleeve, impact plate, and wedge assembly, is axially and slidably mounted on first upright by axial and sliding engagement of first upright with upright sleeve. A user splits log by applying a downwardly directed force on second assembly thereby causing second assembly to move towards base plate such that wedge assembly passes through log, thereby splitting log. Abutting engagement means, extending away from base plate, abuttingly engages upright sleeve and base plate when second assembly is in a resting position where wedge assembly is slightly spaced apart from base plate. Thus, movement of second assembly towards base plate beyond resting position, as well as contact therebetween, is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20060098621
Abstract: A method for routing a service request in a telecommunication system in cases where the identifier received for the destination of the service is not (or can not be) suitable for routing the service, such as when a E.164 number is received in IP based multimedia telecommunication systems. Upon reception of a service request in a telecommunications node of the telecommunication system in charge of serving control for services, a query comprising the received identifier is made to a translation database. As a result, a plurality of identifiers related to the received identifier are received that can have different formats and imply different service types. The service is further routed from said telecommunications node according to an identifier selected among said plurality of identifiers that contains the primarily received identifier in the user name portion.
