  • Publication number: 20060091112
Abstract: A device for the actuation of the movable contacts of a hybrid circuit breaker allows the following time diagram to be implemented: command the opening of the interrupting chamber, offset the opening of the vacuum switch so as to allow the interrupting chamber contacts to separate at a minimum speed and in a way that is synchronous with the separation of the vacuum switch contacts, close the vacuum switch while keeping the interrupting chamber in the open position. Moreover, closing the interrupting chamber does not act upon the contacts of the vacuum switch. The actuation device can be found in a number of embodiments, and allows the vacuum interrupter to be controlled when the circuit breaker is triggered or closed.

  • Publication number: 20060092559
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention clamp assembly for a disk which includes a cavity for trapping the excess lubricant which migrates from the load bearing threads of the screws that hold the assembly in place. In a preferred embodiment a flexible structure, called a screw lubricant trap, is included between a clamp and hub. A recess for the screw lubricant trap is formed in one or both of the mating surfaces of the clamp and/or the hub. The screws are arranged in the interior of the screw lubricant trap, so that when the hub is spinning, the excess lubricant is forced into the cavity to kept the excess lubricant from migrating onto the disk. The screw lubricant trap is preferably made to be non-load bearing to avoid affecting the load on the screw. Alternatively, a groove can be machined in the clamp to serve as the lubricant trap.

  • Publication number: 20060093172
Abstract: A composite hearing aid system comprises two hearing aids (11, 31) with respective microphones (12, 32) and electronic receivers (17, 37), a microphone (42) and a transmitter (41) adapted to transmit the signal from the microphone (42) to the electronic receivers. At least one of the hearing aids (11, 31) comprises means for inverting the phase of the signal received by the electronic receivers (17, 37). When the phase of the received signal is inverted in one of the hearing aids (11, 31), a release from masking is obtained, and the perceived signal-to-noise ratio is improved. The invention provides a composite hearing aid system, a hearing aid and a method for processing audio signals.

  • Patent number: 7037382
Abstract: A three-dimensional printer uses inkjet-type printheads to rapidly prototype, or print, a three-dimensional model. A powder feeder includes a conveyor system and a metering system to deliver powder to a build area in measured quantities. The powder feeder also includes a vacuum system for loading powder into a feed reservoir or chamber. The vacuum system can also be used to cleanup excess powder. Other powder control features include powder gutters and magnetic powder plows. During printing, a cleaning system operates to remove powder from the printheads. In the event of a printhead or jet failure, the failure can be detected and corrective measures taken automatically. After printing, the model can be depowdered and infiltrated in an enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7038636
Abstract: A helical antenna has a helix supported by a helix support. The helix support includes at least one piece of flexible sheet having its two surfaces covered with a layer antistatic material. The flexible sheet is curlable into a revolution surface configuration to form a revolution surface-shaped support section for at least partially supporting a portion of the helix component there around. A grounding mechanism electrically grounds the external sheet surface to the helix and the two sheet surfaces to one another when in the revolution surface configuration while a locking mechanism locks the flexible sheet in the revolution surface configuration. The combination of the helix and the flexible support renders the antenna structurally relatively rigid in all directions.

  • Patent number: 7039698
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for establishing device interaction among electronic devices of a device environment and a notification device interfaced with the user. Notification devices allow the user to communicate directly with the device environment, such as by entering information in a mobile phone that has a wireless connection to the environement. A device of the environment has a first transmitter and receiver for communicating with other devices, such as a notification device within the environment. In the instance where a notification device is located remotely, the device of the environment may also include a second transmitter and receiver for communicating with the remotely located notification device through a remote communications transport. A memory stores interaction rules and translation rules, and a processor implements the interaction rules and translation rules to establish interaction with the notification device.

  • Patent number: 7036490
Abstract: A canister purge valve for regulating fuel vapor flow between a fuel vapor collection canister and an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The canister purge valve includes a body defining a passage extending between a first port and a second port. The first port is adapted for fuel vapor communication with the fuel vapor collection canister. The second port is adapted for fuel vapor communication with the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. A seat is disposed in the passage. The seat defines an aperture having a sealing surface disposed about a central axis. An elastomeric actuator extends through the aperture, and is deformable between a first configuration that engages the sealing surface to prohibit fuel vapor flow through the aperture, and a second configuration spaced from the sealing surface to permit fuel vapor flow through the aperture.
