  • Patent number: 7587705
Abstract: A method and system for executing calls and return calls using client interfaces for packages. In one embodiment, a service at a service package is called using a client interface at a client package. The return call is then made on object using the client interface at the client package as performed by the service at the service package.

  • Patent number: 7451434
Abstract: A shared memory technology where shared objects can be used by any of multiple users, applications, or program sessions with programming language support during development and at runtime. The developer can declare shared memory behaviors at design time to cause one or more area classes to be generated for use at runtime. A shared objects memory is managed by the runtime environment. Content is stored at runtime in an area instance of an area class. Class methods to be generated that include methods for attaching and detaching a running session to and from an area instance, and for detaching a session from a change request on an area instance with a commit or a rollback. The runtime environment manages locks for area instances. There are programming language constructs for creating area instances and for creating data objects of arbitrary data type within area instances.

  • Patent number: 7356804
Abstract: Techniques for testing production code include providing a common source unit having production source code and test source code, the test source code having test methods for testing the production source code. Executable production code is produced based on the production source code and executable test code is produced based on the test source code. A global switch specifies whether to load the executable test code with the executable production code.

  • Patent number: 7340729
Abstract: An article of manufacture and a method includes providing a system having an interface, dividing the interface into levels, associating a dependency list with a level, associating a client with the dependency list, and marking the clients associated with a dependency list for recompilation based on a change to a global component.

  • Patent number: 7284237
Abstract: Techniques for test flow control include providing a test hierarchy, the test hierarchy includes a collection of test methods, each test method calling test assertion methods for checking the correctness of production code, and each test assertion call defines the test execution flow within the test hierarchy in an event of a failure. The flow inside the test hierarchy is controlled according to a parameter of the test assertion method call, in response to the event.

  • Publication number: 20050193004
Abstract: A method for building a new case or enhancing an established case for inclusion in a case base from log entries. The method includes identifying a current log entry, the current log entry including a status of a current diagnostic process. The method also includes identifying a previous log entry, the previous log entry including a status of either a current diagnostic process or a previous diagnostic process. A determination is made about whether the previous log entry is related to the current log entry. An inquiry is generated to create a link between the previous log entry and the current log entry in response to a determination that the previous log entry is related to the current log entry. The method further includes receiving a request to create a link in response to the inquiry. A link is created between the previous log entry and the current log entry in response to the request resulting in the case.

  • Publication number: 20050125148
Abstract: A method for predicting vehicle operator destinations including receiving vehicle position data for a vehicle. The vehicle position data for a current trip is compared to vehicle position data for a previous trip to predict a destination for the vehicle. A path to the destination is suggested.

  • Publication number: 20050078083
Abstract: The invention relates to an input device, a system and method especially for controlling an object that can be displayed on a display. According to the invention, forces and torque acting upon an actuating member are detected and evaluated in terms of their amount and absolute direction, thereby allowing for an easy handling of the device and system even in complicated control situations.

  • Publication number: 20020178020
Abstract: A data communication system includes output devices, input devices allocated to users, and at least one host computer, wherein identical information is output at the output devices, the host computer transmits to the output devices further information allocated to the identical information, and data relating to the further information and input into the input devices are transmitted to the host computer. In this system, the host computer selects, in response to the data received from the input devices, one of the users or a subset of users, and transmits a selected message to the one user or subset of users.
