  • Publication number: 20250031150
Abstract: A method by a node (101), for handling signals. The node (101) operates in a wireless communications network (100). The node (101) determines (502) a distribution of one or more wireless devices (130) served by the node (101) into a plurality of groups. The determining (502) is based on a division of resources available to the node (101) into a corresponding plurality of groups. The resources comprise at least one of: code resources, frequency resources and time resources. The determined plurality of groups determines a corresponding plurality of sets of one or more signals to wake-up the one or more wireless devices (130), to be respectively monitored by the one or more wireless devices (130). The node (101) then initiates (504) transmitting the corresponding plurality of sets of one or more signals to wake-up the one or more wireless devices (130), based on the determined distribution to at least one of the wireless devices (130).

The first communication node (12) in particular may monitor for a cell-specific wake-up signal (20) that is any of multiple cell-specific wake-up signals (20) in a set. In some embodiments, the set is re-used for different sets of cells. Alternatively or additionally, the set may include cell-specific wake-up signals (20) that are based on multiple respective binary sequences, based on different codewords of a binary error correcting code, based on different orthogonal sequences in a set, composed of different sets of Zadoff-Chu sequences with different roots, composed of the same set of Zadoff-Chu sequences with different cyclic shifts, or a function of different cyclic shifts of a root wake-up signal formed by multiple Zadoff-Chu sequences with different roots.

  • Publication number: 20250016675
Abstract: A method by a first node (101), for handling a receiver at a wireless device (130). The first node (101) and the wireless device (130) operate in a wireless communications network (100). The first node (101) determines (502) whether or not a condition is met. The condition is a measurement of a signal received by the wireless device (130) being above or below a first threshold. The first node (101) initiates (503), based on a result of the determining (502), a procedure to wake-up the wireless device (130). The first node (101) initiates the procedure by applying at least one of: a downlink signal to be used, and a receiver to receive the downlink signal to wake-up the wireless device (130) at the wireless device (130).

  • Publication number: 20250008452
Abstract: A first communication node (12) monitors for a wake-up signal (20) during a wake-up signal occasion (20-O), and monitors for a synchronization signal (16) in a synchronization signal occasion (16-O). In one embodiment, the synchronization signal occasion (16-O) at least partially overlaps in time with the wake-up signal occasion (20-O). In another embodiments, the synchronization signal occasion (16-O) occurs in time before or after the wake-up signal occasion (20-O). In this latter case, the synchronization signal occasion (16-O) and the wake-up signal occasion (20-O) may be consecutive occasions in time or may have a gap in time between them. In case there is a gap in time between the occasions, the gap may be a function of a cell identifier, a carrier frequency, a numerology or subcarrier spacing, a periodicity of the wake-up signal occasion (20-O), and/or a discontinuous reception cycle length.

  • Patent number: 12133188
Abstract: A wireless communication device (12) conditions its use of Preconfigured Uplink Resources (PUR), as preconfigured by a wireless communication network (16), on assessing the validity of a Timing Advance (TA) value used by the device (12) for controlling its uplink transmission timing. The device (12) maintains a timer (37) and deems the TA value to be invalid upon expiration of the timer (37). In an example case, a device (12) operating in idle mode performs a PUR-based transmission in dependence on the timer (37) not being expired. A radio network node (10) of the network (16) maintains a like timer (57), to maintain an awareness of TA validity at the device (12) and, for example, sends an updated TA for the device (12) upon receiving a PUR-based transmission from the device (12). The device (12) and the node (10) may refresh their respective timers, in association with the TA update.
