  • Publication number: 20060036150
Abstract: A method is disclosed for, such as with the aid of a tomographic imaging facility or in particular a computer tomograph, in a number of consecutive measurement scans, acquiring an object volume of an examination object. A series of main images is obtained by reconstructing in each case one main image from measured data of each measurement scan and the main images are displayed in temporal sequence. Intermediate images are calculated in order to raise an image repetition rate and are displayed between the main images. The intermediate images are reconstructed at a prescribable instant within the measurement scan directly from a combination of the measured data, acquired up to this instant, of the respectively current measurement scan with the measured data of the respectively preceding measurement scan. The present method can be used to reduce the delay times in the display of the main images in conjunction with increased image quality of the intermediate images.

  • Publication number: 20050274450
Abstract: The present invention provides for a method of impregnating a matrix with a high thermal conductivity filled resin 32, which produces a resin impregnated matrix. The high thermal conductivity material 30 comprises 5-60% by volume of the resin 32. This is compressed by approximately 5-30%, and the distances between the high thermal conductivity materials loaded in the resin are reduced, and the resin is then cured.

  • Publication number: 20050209401
Abstract: The invention relates to an epoxy adhesive composition comprising a) a first epoxy resin, b) a second epoxy resin modified with an acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, the latter comprising on average less than about 25 weight percent acrylonitrile, and c) a toughener. The total amount of component b) and component c) is higher than about 30 percent based on the total weight of the composition, and the weight ratio of component c) to component b) is greater than about 1:1. The invention further relates to the use of said epoxy adhesive composition for the assembly of parts of a vehicle. It also relates to a vehicle, parts of which are assembled by said epoxy adhesive composition.

  • Publication number: 20050070634
Abstract: The invention is a composition comprising applying to a substrate a stream of an adhesive comprising: one or more epoxy resins; one or more rubber modified epoxy resins; one or more toughening compositions comprising the reaction product of one or more isocyanate terminated prepolymers and one or more capping compounds having one or more phenolic, benzyl alcohol, aminophenyl, or, benzylamino groups wherein the reaction product is terminated with the capping compounds; one or more curing agents for epoxy resins and one or more catalysts which initiate cure at a temperature of about 100° C. or greater; and optionally; fillers adhesion promoters, wetting agents or rheological additives useful in epoxy adhesive compositions; wherein the adhesive composition has a viscosity at 45° C. of about 20 Pa.s to about 400 Pa.s. The composition can be used as an adhesive and applied as a stream using a high speed streaming process.

  • Publication number: 20030224917
Abstract: An industrial roll includes: a substantially cylindrical core and a cover overlying the adhesive layer. The cover typically comprises a polymeric top stock layer which comprises a mixture of a polymeric material and at least one of a piezochromic material and a thermochromic material. In this configuration, the pressure and/or temperature experienced by the roll cover at any location thereon can be determined visually, without the need for external equipment.

  • Patent number: 6650725
Abstract: A correction method is used for reducing artifacts caused by structures of high x-ray absorption in computer tomography images. By such a method, it is possible for interfering objects to be found both automatically and interactively in a computer tomography image. Relatively large interfering objects are preferably split up into a plurality of smaller interfering objects. The computer tomography image for each pixel of a selected image region is filtered as a function of its position relative to the interfering object.

  • Patent number: 6266553
Abstract: In a computed tomography apparatus, and a method for operating same, for obtaining cardiac images, a spiral scan of a measurement volume containing a patient's heart is conducted, the production of the scanning data during the spiral scanning being synchronized with an ECG signal from the patient, in order to produce a graphic representation of the examination volume, and thus an image of the patient's heart. The ECG signal is employed to control the generation of the data during the spiral scanning at phase of the cardiac cycle wherein minimum movement of the heart takes place. The chronological correlation between the recording of the scanning data and the ECG signal is fixed, so that within each number of successive time intervals, a dataset is obtained completely within that time interval. The datasets from the successive time intervals are then combined to produce an image of the heart.

  • Patent number: 5834056
Abstract: The invention relates to a fibre bundle impregnating process, in which the fibre bundle is placed on a support and the support, together with the fibre bundle thereon, is moved past an impregnating device. In this process the fibre bundle is supported during the impregnation process and consequently a fibre-reinforced plastic is produced, fibre breaks being largely avoided during its production. One of the possible variants of the inventive concept comprises an impregnating wheel, which receives the fibre bundle and leads it past an impregnating device.

  • Patent number: 5832051
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for the radiological examination of individual cardiac phases of a patient, an X-ray beam is rotated around and penetrates the heart of a patient from various angular positions and the attenuated X-ray beam strikes a radiation detector. The cardiac rhythm of the patient is determined in order to set the rotation time of the X-ray beam around the patient and to produce various control signals synchronized to the cardiac rhythm of the patient, so that radiological exposures of various cardiac phases are possible for the duration of a measurement interval. The setting of the rotation time of the X-ray beam so that the rotation time is larger or smaller, by the measurement interval, than the cycle time of the cardiac rhythm of the patient, so that after a few rotations there is a phase displacement of 360.degree. between the rotating X-ray beam and the cardiac rhythm of the patient.
