  • Publication number: 20080251203
Abstract: Core-shell rubbers are incorporated into epoxy adhesives. The adhesives are structural type adhesives that contain an epoxy resin and a toughener, and may contain a liquid rubber in addition to the core-shell rubber. The adhesives have good modulus and tensile strength, which are obtained without loss of elongation and adhesive properties.

  • Publication number: 20080251202
Abstract: Epoxy adhesive compositions containing a rubber-modified epoxy resin contain a bisphenol. The bisphenol can be pre-reacted with the rubber-modified epoxy resin to advance the resin. The adhesives are resistant to thermal degradation as can occur in so-called “overbake” conditions, in which the adhesive is heated to high temperatures for prolonged periods of time. In addition, expanded microballoons are included in epoxy structural adhesives to promote a desired fracture mode.

  • Publication number: 20070098136
Abstract: A method is for calculating computed tomography pictures from detector data of a CT that uses at least two radiation sources that generate different conical beams. A spatial distribution of attenuation values of a scanned object is reconstructed with the aid of detector data of a first relatively large conical beam. The integral attenuation values that are required to supplement the relatively small conical beam are back calculated from the previously reconstructed data. Finally, a reconstruction of computed tomography pictures is subsequently carried out with the aid of the back calculated integral attenuation data and the measured integral attenuation data of the relatively small conical beam.

  • Publication number: 20060246044
Abstract: Improving cell therapy and tissue regeneration in a patient suffering from a cardiovascular or a neurological disease by treating a tissue of the patient with shock waves and/or applying to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of stem cells and/or progenitor cells. Such treatment increases expression of chemoattractants, pro-angiogenic factors, and pro-survival factors. The chemoattractants can be, for example, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or stromal cell derived factor 1 (SDF-1). For example, the treated tissue can be located in the patient's heart or in a skeletal muscle of the patient, and the shock waves can be extracorporeal shock waves (ESW) or intracorporeal shock waves. The cardiovascular disease can have an ischemic or non-ischemic etiology. For example, the cardiovascular disease can be a myocardial infarction, ischemic cardiomyopathy, or a dilatative cardiomyopathy. For example, the neurological disease can be a peripheral neuropathy or neuropathic pain.

  • Publication number: 20060036150
Abstract: A method is disclosed for, such as with the aid of a tomographic imaging facility or in particular a computer tomograph, in a number of consecutive measurement scans, acquiring an object volume of an examination object. A series of main images is obtained by reconstructing in each case one main image from measured data of each measurement scan and the main images are displayed in temporal sequence. Intermediate images are calculated in order to raise an image repetition rate and are displayed between the main images. The intermediate images are reconstructed at a prescribable instant within the measurement scan directly from a combination of the measured data, acquired up to this instant, of the respectively current measurement scan with the measured data of the respectively preceding measurement scan. The present method can be used to reduce the delay times in the display of the main images in conjunction with increased image quality of the intermediate images.

  • Publication number: 20050274450
Abstract: The present invention provides for a method of impregnating a matrix with a high thermal conductivity filled resin 32, which produces a resin impregnated matrix. The high thermal conductivity material 30 comprises 5-60% by volume of the resin 32. This is compressed by approximately 5-30%, and the distances between the high thermal conductivity materials loaded in the resin are reduced, and the resin is then cured.

  • Patent number: 6650725
Abstract: A correction method is used for reducing artifacts caused by structures of high x-ray absorption in computer tomography images. By such a method, it is possible for interfering objects to be found both automatically and interactively in a computer tomography image. Relatively large interfering objects are preferably split up into a plurality of smaller interfering objects. The computer tomography image for each pixel of a selected image region is filtered as a function of its position relative to the interfering object.
