  • Patent number: 8472895
Abstract: A method for controlling power amplifiers for digital transmission includes converting a digital modulation signal according to envelope elimination and restoration into an amplitude signal and into a phase-modulated carrier signal. The amplitude signal and the phase-modulated carrier signal are combined in a final stage so as to provide a transmit signal. The amplitude signal is automatically monitored by a module that employs a distribution-density function of the amplitude signal in order to determine a direct component error of the amplitude signal. The distribution-density function of the amplitude signal corresponds to a Rayleigh function if the energy of the complex modulation signal is distributed approximately uniformly within a bandwidth being used. If the spectral power density has an approximately rectangular form, the Rayleigh function is used to determine the direct component error. The direct component error is determined from the amplitude signal.

  • Patent number: 8433480
Abstract: A device and a method for triggering personal protection devices, characterized in that a roll rate sensor generates a roll rate while an acceleration sensor detects the transverse acceleration and the vertical acceleration. An integrator is provided to integrate the roll rate to yield an angle. The integrator starts integrating the roll rate when the roll rate exceeds a first threshold value and it stops the integration when the roll rate falls below a second threshold value. In addition, a threshold value controller is provided, adjusting the first and/or second threshold value according to the transverse and/or vertical acceleration. A processor triggers personal protection devices according to the angle and other criteria.

  • Publication number: 20110161214
Abstract: A budgetary control system limits revenue generating transactions that may be entered in an enterprise management system. When a new revenue posting is proposed to the system, various AVC rules are evaluated. The evaluation compares the revenue posting against predetermined budgetary limits. The AVC rules may address various nodes within a revenue postings data structure and within a revenue budget data structure and they may define a test relationship that must be maintained between them. If proposed revenue posting would violate the test relationship of an AVC rule, then the revenue posting may be rejected from the system depending upon the contents of a response field in the AVC rule. Some AVC rules mandate that a violation cause the proposed transaction to be blocked while others may generate a warning notification within the system but admit the new transaction despite the violation.

  • Publication number: 20110156621
Abstract: A rail vehicle has a permanent-magnet synchronous motor as its traction motor. A switching apparatus is arranged between a converter and the traction motor, connects the traction motor to the converter in the driving mode and connects the traction motor to at least one braking resistance during generator operation of the traction motor. The switching apparatus can be operated pneumatically and is for this purpose connected to a main air control line of a compressed-air braking system. In the driving mode, when the pressure in the main air control line is greater than a threshold value, the traction motor is connected to the converter. For braking, when the pressure in the main air control line is less than the threshold value, the traction motor is connected to the at least one braking resistance.

  • Publication number: 20100174628
Abstract: Enterprise management applications perform a “revenues increasing the budget” (RIB) operation on general ledger data and store elements of the general ledger data that have a RIB effect in another ledger, called the “RIB ledger”. RIB ledgers may include sets of RIB rules, storage for documents reflecting all relevant delta values together with the corresponding links to the underlying original transaction documents as well as storage for all relevant aggregated data. Accordingly, when audit operations are performed for RIB budget increases, relevant transaction data is readily available in the RIB ledger. Such copies of the data are more easily accessed than through a search of the larger set of general ledger data, thus facilitating and accelerating use of the RIB techniques in an online system.

  • Patent number: 7720726
Abstract: Financial management applications may operate according to RIB rules in which expenditure budget limits are increased as an organization or department thereof realizes revenue. When such applications operate in conjunction with complicated data structures for revenues and budget, it can become burdensome to define a plurality of RIB rules individually. A configuration system includes a RIB strategy array containing a relatively small set of meta-rules for identifiers of various portions of a revenue data structure to which they apply. An automated configuration system surveys the revenue data structure, determines which value transforms and destination addresses of a budget database apply and generate a larger set of RIB rules that will govern in the financial management application during normal system operation.
