  • Publication number: 20090309289
Abstract: An apparatus for withdrawing flat printed products from a stack and transporting the printed products, includes a transporting device having a transporting direction and a vertical center plane that extends in the transporting direction, a separating device to separate out the printed products from the stack, and a rotating conveyor having a rotational axis and a conveying direction. The rotating conveyor includes at least one gripper with a gripper plane to grip a separated printed product in the gripper plane and supply the separated printed product to the transporting device. The rotational axis is oriented approximately at a right angle to the center plane of the transporting device, and the gripper plane of the at least one gripper is essentially arranged in the center plane of the transporting device.

  • Publication number: 20090285880
Abstract: The present invention relates to dried reconstituted vesicle (DRV) compositions and water based formulations thereof, which contain one or more therapeutic agents (e.g. hydrophilic protein). More particularly, it relates to DRVs comprising at least one lipid and a fusion promoting agent which after reconstitution form large multilamellar liposomes encapsulating an active agent in an aqueous phase.

  • Publication number: 20090209660
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer based material comprising a water binding agent, whereas the water binding agent is present in an amount sufficient to chemically and/or physically absorb and/or adsorb water to prevent degradation of the polymer. It also relates to a polymer based material which comprises a plasticizer or organic solvent as well as a multi-component material or composite including materials encompassing a second polymer and/or an active agent. Furthermore it relates to a method for manufacturing the polymer comprising material and use of the material for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition to be used for treatment of bone, cartilage and/or periodontal defects. The invention also encompasses a kit using the polymeric material.

  • Publication number: 20090148487
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a moldable biomaterial comprising a particulate solid porous material and a biodegradable paste material. The paste material and the particulate solid porous material form a matrix usable for the replacement or augmentation of bone. In various embodiments the matrix has a high structural integrity, which does not immediately or shortly after implantation collapse into an amorphous non-porous mass, maintains its porosity after implantation, shows biphasic degradation after implantation and/or has a good resistance against being washed out when it is applied to a wet opened implant site. Active agents can be incorporated in the moldable biomaterial of the present invention, such as bone growth factors. Kits, implants, method of manufacturing as well as medicinal uses are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7331941
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe has a hollow body adapted to hold a liquid, an inner cap fitted over an end of the body, and an axially extending needle seated in the inner cap and having an outer point projecting axially outward from the inner cap and an inner point projecting axially inward from the inner cap toward the body. An outer cap fittable over the inner cap and needle is connected to a clamp ring engageable around the inner cap by a frangible web. Interengaging formations on the ring and on the inner cap releasably retain the outer cap in an outer position spaced axially outward of the body and in which an interior of the outer cap is open to the exterior and an inner position spaced axially closely to the body and in which the interior of the outer cap is not open to the exterior.
