  • Publication number: 20150019117
Abstract: A method for regulating a distance of a vehicle from a preceding vehicle (vehicle ahead) based on available information for the subject vehicle's speed, for the distance and for the speed of the vehicle ahead and on data regarding route information includes determining a fuel-saving situation for a fuel saving momentum utilization phase, and precomputing a consumption optimal speed profile for undisturbed travel. The method further precomputes additional separation requirement to the vehicle ahead that is required to be able to fully implement the momentum utilization phase, and builds up the required additional separation prior to the fuel-saving situation, wherein the additional separation is built up, preferably substantially uniformly, over a separation build-up distance that is longer than the precomputed momentum utilization phase distance and/or is built up with a driver-acceptable, convoy-stabilizing, defined small speed reduction relative to the current speed of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8880313
Abstract: A method operates a vehicle having an acquisition device for acquiring defined route section data of an upcoming route section to be passed through via the vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle. Accordingly, the route section data, which are acquired by the acquisition device are evaluated in an evaluation device with respect to the wear reduction potential of a vehicle-side wearing part for the upcoming route section to be passed through such that, to reduce and/or optimize the wear of the wearing part. An actuating parameter, in particular an actuating time and/or an actuating duration, is predetermined for the wearing part in the upcoming route section to be passed through. An auxiliary device which supports the wearing part in its action is activated in the upcoming route section to be passed through in accordance with at least one predefined auxiliary device parameter.

  • Publication number: 20140166166
Abstract: A method for producing an automobile column is disclosed. The automobile column has a region of a first type and a region of a second type which have mutually different strengths. A transition region having a width of less than 50 mm is formed between the two regions. The automobile column has in the region of the first type a bainitic structure and in the region of the second type a martensitic structure.

  • Publication number: 20140152973
Abstract: The invention describes a long-range optical device with two observation parts and a first observation beam path and a measurement beam path, in which the two observation parts are arranged essentially parallel next to each other and spaced a predefinable distance apart via at least one connection element. In a plan view of the device 1 with respect to a plane, in which the longitudinal axes of the observation parts are arranged, the sub-regions of the observation parts facing each other lie directly opposite each other over a length aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the observation parts of 20% to 90%, preferably 30% to 80% of a length of the observation parts. In addition, the observation beam path and the measurement beam path are arranged outside the sub-regions of the observation parts.

  • Patent number: 8733647
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of determining a replacement distance when taking aim on a target (2) with a target distance D (6) and an elevation angle ? (5) between a line of sight (4) to the target (2) and a horizontal plane (3) with a weapon (9) in order to fire projectiles with an approximately flat trajectory. The replacement distance is determined from the target distance D (6) by means of a correction function, and the correction function is determined exclusively from non-ballistic characteristic values and at least as a function of the target distance D (6) and the difference in angle between the elevation angle ? (5) and the shooting angle.

  • Patent number: 8541317
Abstract: A substrate is mounted onto an elevated substrate support of a substrate carrier plate. The substrate carrier plate with the substrate is then placed in a plasma reactor. • Patent number: 8034435
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic film with an interference multilayer system applied thereon that comprises at least two layers. Said layers can be obtained by hardening and/or applying thermal treatment to a coating composition containing nanoscale inorganic solid particles having polymerizable and/or polycondensable organic surface groups, thereby forming a layer that is crosslinked by means of the polymerizable and/or polycondensable organic surface groups. The films can be used as an optical laminating film.
