  • Patent number: 10352074
Abstract: A blowout latch includes a rotatable bolt that secures a first panel that is adjacent to a second panel to which the latch is affixed. The bolt is restrained by a toggle linkage that operates at one end of the bolt against a pressure-actuated spring. The linkage will release the bolt when an excessive opening force against the bolt exceeds a selected restraining force of the spring. When that condition occurs, the linkage will have deflected the spring and moved to a position where the end of the linkage bearing against spring loses it mechanical leverage with respect to the bolt. Thereafter, the bolt is free to continue rotation to a fully open position. The latch also includes a manual trigger release that disables the restraining linkage and permits free rotation of the bolt to the fully open position when this trigger is actuated.

  • Publication number: 20190158633
Abstract: This document relates to protocol translation for remote control of various devices. One example is a technique that includes identifying a controlled device that has a controlled device communication protocol for controlling the controlled device. The technique also includes obtaining translation data that conveys translations of commands from another protocol into the controlled device protocol. The technique also includes configuring a delay for transmitting the translated commands, and performing translation between the another protocol and the controlled device protocol using the translation data and the configured delay.

  • Patent number: 10275578
Abstract: The present disclosure provides identification and continuous monitoring of content, such as broadcast content, in real time, using a hierarchical, distributed approach to content identification. Identification, synchronization and verification are provided. Identification may be performed by an identification server using a reference database of fingerprints. The same or another computing device may be used perform synchronization, such that at least some portion of each fingerprint generated by client devices that form a verification group are synchronized for verification. Verification used to determine whether a client device continues to receive the same content identified during identification compares at least a portion of each fingerprint generated by each client device of a verification group. If a mismatch occurs, identification may be repeated to identify the new content being received by a client device.

  • Patent number: 10173782
Abstract: A latch with a unique nesting toggle linkage that extends and retracts a hook via movement of an actuation handle. The linkage links have U-shaped lateral cross sections with a central channel into which the respective links nest when the latch is closed to minimize the overall volume of the latch. The links fold toward each other while closing to reduce the latch's overall length when fully closed. The components of the latch are arranged so that the center of gravity of the latch is positioned in front of a mounting pin; therefore, in applications where the latch swings in the vertical plane, the hook will necessarily hang downwardly away from the keeper when the latch is open. Optionally, a keeper detector prevents the actuation handle from closing if the keeper has not been first captured in the mouth of the hook. A rod-and-cylinder slide mechanism may be employed between the hook body and the mounting pin.

  • Publication number: 20180245371
Abstract: A sensor pin coupled to a latch is described herein. The sensor pin includes a sensor pin body including a sensor, a sensor bolt extending from the sensor pin body and having a rod cavity arranged at a non-straight angle with regard to an interface pin cavity, an actuator rod slidably positioned within the rod cavity, and an interface pin slidably positioned within the interface pin cavity and mechanically coupled to the actuator rod such that actuation of the interface pin causes axial movement of the actuator rod toward the sensor. Additionally, actuation of the sensor by the actuator rod triggers transmission of a latch state signal by the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20180222499
Abstract: It is described a system and method to monitor railway wheels, which includes obtaining images of the railway wheel by means of stereo cameras and performing a three-dimensional and two-dimensional model of the railway wheel by means of these images. This two-dimensional model is subjected to analysis of the profile of the railway wheel, comparing it with a two-dimensional model of an ideal wheel and thus measuring the effective wear of its profile. The three-dimensional model is subjected to analysis of the surface of the railway wheel, also comparing it with a three-dimensional model of an ideal wheel and thus measuring the effective wear of its surface.

  • Publication number: 20170226781
Abstract: A bin latch system. A bin latch mechanism that has been designed with weight, number of components, simplicity of operation and installation as main design drivers. The bin latch utilizes spring loaded rods that are ‘pulled’ to release the locking subassemblies. The rods lock two sets of interlocking housings in place. Due to the nature of the rod actuator, the design is binary in nature and needs both sets of interlocking housings to be secured before the interface handle can go to ‘full close’ position. Additionally, there is no rigging necessary at install. Once the assembly is in secured in place, it is ready to be operated.

  • Publication number: 20170211607
Abstract: A ball lock pin is provided to avoids the problem of falling balls via machining the retention ring (previously deformed ring) from the inside of the pin body, thus creating a stable and extremely well controlled surface where the steel balls can rest. The pin body does not need to be deformed, thus eliminates any potential corrosion to build up in the area.

  • Patent number: 9663216
Abstract: A channel latch having a lock for holding the latch bolt closed which includes a secondary locking feature that prevents the lock from being turned. The lock mechanism has a tumbler barrel with a central reciprocal plunger that has a key portion which outwardly projects through the barrel into a keyway in the bolt. The plunger is depressed downward against a spring when a tool is inserted into the tumbler to turn it. The keyway includes longitudinal grooves and a pathway that restrict the upward release of the plunger only when the tumbler is turned to either the locked or unlocked position. Once the plunger is released the key and groove abutment prevents the lock from being turned.

  • Publication number: 20170101811
Abstract: A latch for releasably connecting two elements is operable between engaged and released positions. An elongate handle opens and closes a latch mechanism about a first axis of rotation at the rear end of the handle. The latch handle is held closed only when the latch mechanism is in the engaged position and is lockable in the closed position by a manually operable handle catch. The front end of a handle cover is rotatably connected to the front end of the handle. The cover has a cover catch on the rear end, which is engagable with the latch mechanism to hold the cover closed. The cover is substantially coextensive with and in abutment with the handle. When the latch is mounted overhead and is open, the handle extends downward by the force of gravity and the cover extends downward away from the handle. In this configuration, the open latch is highly visible.
