Abstract: The present invention provides a wearable brace garment configured for stabilizing an articulating joint of a wearer. The garment comprises a tension member disposed along a three-dimensional spatial path about the joint in conduits on or within the garment. The tension member comprises a plurality of strands substantially inextensible along a longitudinal direction. The garment further comprises a web portion comprising the strands laterally spread, each strand disposed in a corresponding strand conduit. A tensioner is disposed on the garment and arranged for adjusting a tension in the tension member. A tension evener is disposed on the garment tension-wise in communication with the tensioner and with the strands of the tension member. The tension evener is arranged for evening tension among the plurality of inextensible strands of the tension member within the web portion. The tension evener may comprise a whippletree. In some embodiments the whippletree may be a multi-tier whippletree.

  • Patent number: 11010306
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for managing a cache hierarchy. The apparatus has processing circuitry for executing instructions, and a cache hierarchy for storing content for access by the processing circuitry when executing those instructions. The cache hierarchy has a plurality of levels of cache including a highest level of cache that is accessed prior to the other levels of cache in response to a request from the processing circuitry. Eviction control circuitry is provided in association with each level of cache, and the eviction control circuitry associated with a chosen level of cache in arranged to implement a most recently read eviction policy that causes content most recently read from the chosen level of cache to be selected for eviction from that chosen level of cache. It has been found that such an approach can significantly increase the effective cache capacity within the cache hierarchy, without the complexities often associated with other schemes.

  • Publication number: 20210009942
Abstract: The present invention is directed generally to dry cell culture media or feeds in pellet formats which can be reconstituted into liquid media for culturing cells in vitro. Each pellet composition may comprise the same or a different composition; for example, different vitamins, amino acids, buffers, trace salts, pH, iron chelators, etc. The invention also relates to methods of making dry cell culture media by altering ratios of different pellet compositions, or, methods of making modular dry cell culture media, or customizing media formulations for growing a cell type using pellets. The media pellets may be easier to handle either before reconstitution, during shipping and handling; and/or during reconstitution. Media pellets may be used in any container like bags including sterile, single use bags for preparing media formulations. The invention also relates to kits and culture systems using media pellets.

  • Publication number: 20200262161
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for automatic extrudate loading and alignment. An extrudate handling system includes a head end assembly and an imaging device (which may be part of the head end assembly). The imaging device is configured to image an end face of an extrudate, and generate, during translation of the extrudate, an imaging output signal indicative of a rotational position of the end face of the extrudate. The head end assembly includes a rotational effector to rotate the extrudate during translation thereof and a fixed effector rotationally fixed relative to a track. The extrudate handling system is able to determine the rotational position of the web angle of the extrudate and precisely adjust the rotational position while linearly translating the extrudate along the track. The extrudate handling system provides greater accuracy, reduced costs, and improved results.

  • Patent number: 10731339
Abstract: A modular, reusable temporary enclosure system is particularly suited for the renovation of buildings having stacked concrete floors supported by steel and/or concrete columns. The system consists of a set of track components, one fastened to the floor, and one fastened to the ceiling. Columns assembled from rigid panels are supported and aligned between these components. The panel edges are connected to one another by an interfacing spline assembly. To ensure that the components can be brought up to the construction site by elevator, individual panels are shorter than the full distance between the floors.

  • Patent number: 10540281
Abstract: A cache to provide data caching in response to data access requests from at least one system device, and a method operating such a cache, are provided. Allocation control circuitry of the cache is responsive to a cache miss to allocate an entry of the multiple entries in the data caching storage circuitry in dependence on a cache allocation policy. Quality-of-service monitoring circuitry is responsive to a quality-of-service indication to modify the cache allocation policy with respect to allocation of the entry for the requested data item. The behaviour of the cache, in particular regarding allocation and eviction, can therefore be modified in order to seek to maintain a desired quality-of-service for the system in which the cache is found.
