  • Patent number: 9139269
Abstract: A boat hull cleaner comprises a pole having at least two parts 2, 3 which can be set at an angle with respect to one another, a float 6, and a brush 7, the float having a buoyancy portion which gives a minimum buoyancy to the float. The float has an opening or openings arranged to admit water into the float when it is tilted while under water with the result that effective buoyancy of the float is adjusted. The hull cleaner is formed such that when it is in use a human operator can hold one end of the pole from above water level and move it to manipulate the float and the brush beneath water level such that the float encourages the brush against a boat hull to assist the operator to clean the hull.

  • Patent number: 7513198
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for detonation of a super-compressed insensitive energetic material by cylindrical implosion followed by an axial detonation to a detonation velocity several times that of TNT and a detonation pressure in excess of ten times that of TNT. The device provides a conical metal flyer shell within which is disposed a cylindrical anvil surrounded by explosive. The anvil retains an insensitive energetic material to be compressed and detonated. A first detonation of explosive by impact of the flyer shell generates a reverberating oblique shock wave system for sample compression. Axial detonation of the compressed sample through any length of a sample is achieved following the principal of matching the axial velocity and compression time of the oblique shock wave system to the detonation velocity and induction delay time of the compressed sample. The method and apparatus are also applicable to enhancing the effect of anti-armour and anti-hard-target munitions.

  • Patent number: 7319853
Abstract: A home wellness system includes a headless base station having a first wireless communication port, a portable fob having a second wireless communication port, a user input device and a display, and plurality of sensors. Each of the sensors senses information and includes a third wireless communication port, which sends the sensed information to the first wireless communication port of the headless base station. The headless base station sends the sensed information for one, some or all of the sensors from its first wireless communication port to the second wireless communication port of the portable fob. The portable fob displays the sensed information for one, more or all of the sensors at its display.
