    Abstract: A fastening tool having a socket and a socket wrench with laser induced friction surfaces or lines on the outer surface of the socket is described herein. The laser induced friction surfaces may have a plurality of kerfs with recast material to increase the coefficient of friction on the outer surface of the socket. As a result, the user of the fastening tool may pull the socket off a head of a fastener with his or her hands instead of having to dislodge the socket first with a blunt object, such as a hammer. It is contemplated that the socket wrench may have laser induced friction surfaces or lines also.

Antenna probes are arranged in orthogonal pairs positioned within gaps between a corresponding set of plate elements, with each antenna probe comprising a conductive strip having a feed section coupled to a radio frequency connection through the baseplate, a transverse section generally parallel with the baseplate, and a terminal section directed back toward the baseplate. Dielectric structures for each pair of antenna probes comprise a dielectric material having channels that recess the conductive strips therein and a dielectric spacer positioned between overlapping transverse sections of the antenna probes.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for mitigating loss of information in electronically transmitted images caused by compression operations performed on the images to facilitate transmissions. When an image for electronic transmission is received, a computer vision model extracts various points of data from the image corresponding to information present in the image that is intended for human consumption (for example, in a scan of a handwritten note from a doctor prescribing a medicine for a patient, some of the data points may include the name of the medicine, the dosage value, and when the medicine should be consumed). A test transmission image is then generated by applying the compression operations which are applied in the electronic transmission to a copy of the image, and that copy is also inputted to the computer vision model for data point extraction. Differences in the extracted data points are used to modify the image for transmission.

    Abstract: A multi-component idler or pulley that may be used with a belt and pulley system of an automobile is disclosed. The multi-component idler may have an external idler housing coupled to a mounting hub that is designed to be connected to a mounting surface of the belt and pulley system. The axial position of the external idler housing may be adjustable relative to the mounting hub using a threaded engagement or a plurality of shims between the components. The external idler housing and the mounting hub may be fastened to each other by bolts once their positions are adjusted relative to each other. Different types of external idler housing may also be used with the mounting hub. In this way, the serpentine belt of the belt and pulley system may be adjusted based on the user's needs.
