  • Patent number: 9551409
Abstract: A pulley assembly having a body, a shaft mount and a plurality of bolts is disclosed. The body is aligned to the shaft mount by providing a tight tolerance between a shoulder portion of the bolt and a neck portion of a counter sunk hole formed in the body. Additionally, an outer surface of the body may have a pattern of friction lines or patches formed by fusing particulate matter to the outer surface with heat generated by a laser beam.

  • Patent number: 9544388
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for client-side predictive caching of content to facilitate instantaneous use of the content. If a user is likely to commence use of a content item through a client, the client is configured to predictively cache the content item before the user commences use. In doing so, the client may obtain metadata for the content item and an initial portion of the content item from another computing device. The client may then initialize various resources to facilitate instantaneous use of the content item by the client based at least in part on the metadata and the initial portion. The client-side cache may be divided into multiple segments with different content selection criteria.

  • Patent number: 9448916
Abstract: Described are a system and method for performing an automated quality assessment on a software program under test. A test automation system executes a test on a software program Data related to the test is automatically collected. The data includes first information determined by the test automation system in response to executing the test. The data further includes second information related to the test and received from a source other than the test automation system. The first information is analyzed. A quality assessment of the software program is generated from the analyzed first information and from the second information.

  • Publication number: 20160232463
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for generating and executing computer system workflow action items based upon analysis of customer social media activity. A social media processing engine receives social media activity data from each of a plurality of social media data sources and identifies a customer associated with the social media activity data. The social media processing engine selects a workflow action item based upon the portion of the social media activity data and retrieves customer profile data and customer account data for the workflow action item. The social media processing engine populates the workflow action item with the customer profile data and the customer account data and transmits the populated workflow action item to a workflow processing engine, which executes the populated workflow action item to transmit a workflow transaction request to an enterprise computing system that is responsive to the workflow action item.

  • Publication number: 20160117228
Abstract: Archiving a database and point in time recovery of the database. A method includes taking a first snapshot of a database. The first snapshot of the database includes a first snapshot of the data in the data storage and a first snapshot of the log records in the log storage. The method further includes taking a second snapshot of the database. The second snapshot of the database includes a second snapshot of the data in data storage and a second snapshot of the log records. The method further includes restoring the database to a particular point by applying the first snapshot of the data in the data storage to the database, applying the first snapshot of the log records in the log storage to the database and applying a portion of the second snapshot of the log records in the log storage to the database.

  • Publication number: 20160113760
Abstract: An intra-ocular device includes an electronic lens that can be controlled to control the overall optical power of the device. The device can be installed within a flexible polymeric material shaped to conform to the inside surface of a lens capsule of an eye. Accommodation forces applied to the device and/or polymeric material via the lens capsule can cause a change in the optical power of the device and/or polymeric material. Further, such accommodation forces can be detected by an accommodation sensor of the device and the optical power of the electronic lens can be controlled based on the detected accommodation forces. Operated in this way, the device and polymeric material can restore a degree of accommodation to the eye that is related to existing mechanisms for controlling such accommodation, i.e., forces exerted by the eye via the lens capsule.

  • Publication number: 20150290785
Abstract: A puller for removing a pulley off of the shaft is disclosed. The puller may have proximal and distal plates that are disposable around the pulley so that the pulley is disposed entirely between the proximal and distal plates. These plates are held together by frame members. A push rod is threadably engaged to a proximal plate and operative to be further inserted into the proximal plate so that a distal end of the push rod may push against the shaft and transfer a removing force through the puller to the backside of the pulley for removing the pulley off of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 9111029
Abstract: A system and method to allow an individual transaction in an instrumented software application to be monitored according to its own configuration. In one preferred embodiment, each transaction is associated with a token. The token includes the monitoring configuration that should be used for the associated transaction. When the application entry point is reached for the transaction, the token is looked up and retrieved, and the monitoring policy configuration of the token determines what data is gathered about the transaction.

  • Publication number: 20150065821
Abstract: Functionalized particles in the blood are able to selectively bind to targets in the blood that have adverse health effects. The binding of the particles to the targets allows the targets to be selectively modified or destroyed by energy from outside the body such that the adverse health effects are reduced or eliminated. The energy is generated by a wearable device which is able to direct the energy into the subsurface vasculature of the wearer of the wearable device. Further, one or more of the functionalized particles may be magnetic, allowing a magnetic field generated by the wearable device and directed into the subsurface vasculature to concentrate the bound targets in a lumen of the subsurface vasculature proximate to the wearable device.

  • Publication number: 20140142039
Abstract: Controlled release of VIP from PLGA microparticles was accomplished and varied through use of different polymer molecular sizes, addition of solutes to the inner aqueous phase, and use of our computer model. Released VIP from microparticles appeared to be bioactive and caused DCs to produce more CCL22 than DCs treated with blank particles at 7 and 24 hours. Additionally, DCs treated with VIP microparticle releasates recruited higher percentages of FoxP3+ T-cells in in vitro chemotaxis studies. Testing in a mouse model in vivo indicated that VIP microparticles have significant therapeutic potential to treat periodontal disease by reducing the bone loss in infected mice relative to the blank group.

  • Patent number: 8626894
Abstract: A method for graphically representing events at runtime in an event management system is provided. A plurality of events including a first event and a second event are received that define respective states of one or more networked devices. A cause-effect event relation is identified between the first event, the second event, and a projected event responsive to receiving the first and second events. A runtime visualization output is generated that includes a graphical representation of the first event, the second event, the projected event and the event relation.
