Patent number: 7497865Abstract: A ring for use in anastomosis. Preferably, the ring is integrally formed from metal, and includes a ring portion and tines and docking members that extend from the ring portion. The ring portion and tines are malleable, and preferably also the docking members are malleable. The ring portion and tines are malleable in the sense that once deformed from a first shape into a second shape, they will not relax back into the first shape from the second. To install the ring in a vessel with the ring portion extending around an incision or other orifice, the tines pierce the tissue around the orifice and are curled against an anvil. The action of curling the tines inverts the tissue near the orifice edges to expose the inside surface of the vessel or organ.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2004Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: MAQUET Cardiovascular, LLCInventors: Geoffrey H. Patent number: 7406936Abstract: An accumulator fuel system for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of engine cylinders, includes an accumulator fuel volume (12; 112) for supplying high pressure fuel to one or more of a plurality of injectors (10) of the fuel system, each of which is arranged to supply fuel to an associated one of the engine cylinders. The accumulator fuel volume (12; 112) is integrated within an engine component, where the engine component provides a purpose other than that solely of an accumulator volume for storing high pressure fuel. For example, the accumulator volume (12; 112) is defined in one embodiment within a rocker shaft (32) of the engine and in another embodiment within the engine cylinder head (16).Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2003Date of Patent: August 5, 2008Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Andrew Knight, Andy Male

Patent number: 7263974Abstract: A fuel injection system for supplying pressurised fuel to a fuel injector (200) comprises an accumulator volume (606) for supplying fuel at rail pressure (P1) to the fuel injector (200) through a rail fuel supply passage (608) and a fuel pressurising arrangement (604) for supplying fuel at a selected pressure greater than rail pressure (P2) to the fuel injector (200) through a pressurised fuel supply passage (614). A fuel shut-off valve (618) is provided in the system which is operable between a closed position in which fuel is retained within the pressurising arrangement (604) and an open position in which pressurised fuel is supplied to the injector (200) from the pressurising arrangement (604) during an injection of fuel from the rail fuel supply passage (608). Operating the shut-off valve in this way provides a boost in the fuel pressure delivered during an injection event.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2006Date of Patent: September 4, 2007Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Andrew Knight

Publication number: 20070160944Abstract: A method and apparatus is defined for automatically igniting and controlling a gaslight to turn ON the gaslight in the evening and turn OFF the gaslight in the morning or alternatively, using a switch or timer to turn the gaslight on and off. The gaslight may be either a mantle type burner or an open flame type burner. The igniter consists of a high voltage spark generator that is controlled by a microcontroller to enable the spark when the microcontroller senses that darkness has occurred or a preset time of day has occurred. The spark is generated across a spark probe gap that is positioned in an optimum location to ignite the gas/air mixture. We and others have been manufacturing gaslight igniters for several years and this patent pertains to recent concepts and implementations that greatly improve the automatic igniter/burner utility and operation. The physical parameters of the device are also important.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Arnold Knight, Andrew Knight

Patent number: 7197438Abstract: A memory compiler characterization system and method for determining parametric data, wherein memory compilers of a first type are rigorously characterized and memory compilers of a second type are sparsely characterized with respect to a particular parameter. Absolute scale factors are determined based on the ratio of the parametric data points of two congruent memory compilers, one from each type. Interpolated scale factors are obtained based on the absolute scale factors. Parametric data for the remaining compilers of the sparsely characterized compiler set is filled out by applying the interpolated scale factors in conjunction with the data of the congruent memory compilers of the first type.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2001Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Virage Logic Corp.Inventors: Deepak Mehta, Andrew Knight, Deepak Sabharwal, Raymond Tak-Hoi

Publication number: 20070025712Abstract: An energy conserving remote power efficient viewing system comprising an instantaneous analog video transmission camera, an analog video receiver that receives and transmits a video image to a video monitor and a remote transmitter that activates the analog video transmission camera. The remote camera device is normally off, sleep mode that has a minimal power drain. The system includes a battery powered camera requiring a first voltage to operate and an RF transmitter to send an activation signal to the camera. The activation signal has a duration. A camera power circuit includes a normally sleeping signal receiving circuit and a first timer. The first timer periodically activates the signal receiving circuit to check for the presence of the activation signal and turns off the signal receiving circuit if the activation signal is not present and turns on the camera if the activation signal is present, and wherein the time the signal receiving circuit is off is less than the activation signal duration.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventors: Scott Jezierski, Andrew Knight

Patent number: 6966301Abstract: An accumulator fuel system for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of engine cylinders, includes an accumulator fuel volume for supplying high pressure fuel to one or more of a plurality of injectors, each of which is arranged to supply fuel to an associated one of the engine cylinders. The accumulator fuel volume is integrated within an engine component, where the engine component provides a purpose other than that solely of an accumulator volume for storing high pressure fuel. The accumulator fuel volume is therefore defined in an existing engine component, to reduce part count, weight and cost. In one embodiment the accumulator fuel volume is defined within a rocker shaft of the engine and in another embodiment within the engine cylinder head.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2003Date of Patent: November 22, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Andrew Knight, Andrew Male
