Publication number: 20110068587Abstract: An integrated latch system is described. The integrated latch system including at least a latch, a keeper, and a discrete actuator. In a closed state, the actuator is in direct contact with the keeper and applies a first force to the keeper, the latch applies a second force to the keeper, the first and the second force cooperating to engage the latch and the keeper. In transitioning from the closed state to the open state, a releasing force is applied to the latch, the latch moving at least a predetermined distance in response to the releasing force thereby causing the latch and the keeper to disengage. The actuator applies an ejection force onto the keeper and the keeper moves to an open position in response to the ejection force.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2009Publication date: March 24, 2011Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventors: Andrew Lauder, Gautam Baksi

Publication number: 20100154997Abstract: An array of resilient floor tiles is assembled into a continuous sheet after being laid down. An array of included, sacrificial resistive wires is buried along the edges of the tiles and is controllably heated in order to cause welding of the edges of tiles across the paths of the wires to neighbouring tiles. Subsequently the wires may be used to give the array integral tensile strength. The welded array is provided with greater strength for resisting use, expansive and contractile forces caused by environmental heat and cold and also long-term tile contraction owing to loss of plasticiser as may be seen with PVC-based tiles.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2010Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: MATTA I LIMITEDInventors: Thomas James SPROTT, Warren Andrew LAUDER, Paul HARRIS, Adrian James SPROTT

Publication number: 20090027583Abstract: A display housing for housing a display monitor is provided. The display housing includes an enclosure for enclosing at least a portion of the display monitor. The enclosure is non-ferrous and has a first side and a first magnetically attractable assembly coupled to the enclosure. The display housing also includes a non-opaque screen having a second side and a second magnetically attractable assembly coupled to the non-opaque screen such that when the second side of the non-opaque screen is mated with the first side of the enclosure, a magnetic attraction force is created between the first magnetically attractable assembly and the second magnetically attractable assembly. The first magnetically attractable assembly and the second magnetically attractable assembly are configured such that the magnetic attraction force is sufficiently strong to hold the non-opaque screen to the enclosure during use.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2007Publication date: January 29, 2009Inventors: Michael David McBroom, Daniel McBroom, Brian Thomas Sudderth, John Patrick Ternus, Todd Gotham, Andrew Lauder
