  • Publication number: 20240351290
Abstract: This document describes systems and method of embedded printing for additive manufacturing. A print material is printed into a support material. The print material and the support material each have a fluid phase and a solid phase. The print material transitions from the fluid phase to the solid phase based on a fluid-fluid interaction with the support material. One or more parameters of the support material can be adjusted to cause a diffusion rate of the print material into the support material during the fluid-fluid interaction to be less than a threshold value. Multiple print materials can be printed into the support material simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20240336227
Abstract: A system for enabling a user to start a vehicle has a SmartFuse with a terminal coupled to vehicle battery voltage and a terminal coupled to a vehicle element to be powered to start the vehicle. The SmartFuse has a microprocessor, a first data repository, a normally open electrical contact in a conductor connected in series with a fuse filament, and first wireless communication circuitry. A smartphone executing a mobile application stores a list of identities of drivers authorized to operate the vehicle. A candidate driver identifies to the mobile application which determines if the candidate driver is on the list. If so, the smartphone signals the first microprocessor in the SmartFuse to close the normally open electrical contact in the SmartFuse, enabling the vehicle to be started.

  • Publication number: 20240326590
Abstract: A system preventing an impaired driver from starting a vehicle has a mobile application executing on a portable communication device having a display screen, user-operable input elements, a microphone audio input, a speaker and wireless communication circuitry, a hardware component integrated into wiring of the vehicle, the hardware component comprising a normally open switching element operable by wireless signal from the portable communication device, that when open prevents the vehicle from starting, and an interactive interface displayed on the display screen. The interactive interface requests specific action from a candidate driver, records the candidate driver's action, determines if the action indicates the candidate driver is impaired, and if not impaired, signals the hardware component wirelessly to close the normally open switching element for a predetermined time, enabling the candidate driver to start the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12089973
Abstract: A system for detecting disposal of metallic objects into an opening of a medical waste container, including: an indicator for indicating passage of metallic objects through the opening, a pair of receive coils and a transmit coil spaced therebetween shaped for receiving waste therethrough adjacent to the opening, and a controller in electrical communication with the coils. The controller generates and communicates a transmit signal to the transmit coil, which generates a magnetic field that induces voltage in each of the receive coils, which each generate a receive signal. The controller generates a waveform based on the receive signals with a baseline corresponding to absence of metallic objects, and analyzes the waveform with respect to opposite first and second thresholds. The controller activates the indicator in response to metallic objects passing through the coils when the waveform first exceeds the first threshold and then subsequently exceeds the second threshold.

  • Publication number: 20240296044
Abstract: An infrastructure system facilitates trace-based surveys to query users their experiences with pull request workflows. For example, the infrastructure system may receive from a client device associated with a user a pull request for making one or more changes to a programming code repository. The infrastructure system may generate a trace based on a pull request workflow including operations for making the change(s). The trace includes spans, each of which correspond to one or more operations in the pull request workflow. The infrastructure system generates log files, each log file includes data logged during the one or more operations of a span. The log files may be stored as a dataset of the trace. The infrastructure system may transmit a survey to the client device based on the dataset. The infrastructure system may also modify the pull request workflow based on the user's response to the survey.
