  • Publication number: 20170369902
Abstract: Manipulation of male fertility in a polyploid species requires attention to the interaction of male-fertility alleles of multiple genomes. In hexaploid wheat, single-genome heterozygotes for Ms26 provide differential levels of male fertility across genomes. Hexaploid wheat homozygous for mutations in the Ms26 gene on the A, B, and D genomes is male-sterile. Male fertility may be restored by sufficient levels of expression of Ms26 using native Ms26 or a transgene, which may be native to wheat or to another species, or a combination of native and transgenic alleles. CRISPR/Cas9 technology may be used to generate mutations in Ms26 in wheat or rice.

  • Patent number: 9844063
Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for dynamically enabling and disabling cyclic prefix within a long-term evolution (LTE) channel. A base station receives channel quality indication (CQI) reports indicating levels of ISI within the LTE channel. The base station determines whether the levels of ISI within the LTE channel are greater than, equal to, or less than a predetermined threshold level of ISI for the LTE channel. Based on the determination, the base station either enables or disables cyclic prefix within the LTE channel. In addition to levels of ISI, numbers of roaming users or cell edge users utilizing the LTE channel may affect whether cyclic prefix is enabled or disabled within the LTE channel.

  • Patent number: 9843431
Abstract: Systems and methods for handling of scheduling request collisions with an ACK/NACK repetition signal are provided. A pending scheduling request may be refrained from being transmitted due to the collision. The SR counter may be refrained from incrementing and the SR prohibit timer may be refrained from starting such that additional latency is not introduced into the scheduling request procedure. Alternatively, a pending scheduling request may be transmitted with the ACK/NACK repetition signal in the same subframe when the collision occurs. The ACK/NACK repetition signal may be transmitted on the SR PUCCH resource to indicate a positive scheduling request. If there is no pending scheduling request to be transmitted, the ACK/NACK repetition signal may be transmitted on the ACK/NACK PUCCH resource.

  • Patent number: 9813141
Abstract: A Long Term Evolution (LTE) communication system dynamically controls Automatic Gain Control (AGC) in a repeater system serving individual User Equipment (UE). The LTE communication system identifies individual UEs and an application type used by the individual UEs being served by a repeater section in the repeater system. The LTE communication system determines a Variable Bit Rate (VBR)-to-Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) application ratio based on a number of the identified individual UEs using a VBR application and a number of the identified individual UEs using a GBR application. The LTE communication system compares the VBR-to-GBR application ratio to a VBR application threshold and determines that the VBR-to-GBR application ratio exceeds the VBR application threshold. In response to determining that the VBR-to-GBR application ratio exceeds the VBR application threshold, the LTE communication system instructs the repeater section in the repeater system to disable the AGC.

  • Publication number: 20170298383
Abstract: Compositions and methods are capable of modulating male fertility in a plant. Compositions comprise polynucleotides and polypeptides, and fragments and variants thereof, which modulate male fertility. Expression cassettes comprise a male-fertility polynucleotide, or fragment or variant thereof, operably linked to a promoter, wherein expression of the polynucleotide modulates the male fertility of a plant. The level and/or activity of a polynucleotide that influences male fertility is modulated in a plant or plant part. Regulatory sequences drive expression in a male-tissue-preferred manner and may be targets to downregulate an operably linked gene. Methods to track mutations that induce nuclear recessive male sterility in subsequent selfing and crossing of wheat lines containing the mutations are also provided. Male-sterile plants may be maintained by pollinating with a maintainer plant.
