  • Patent number: 10565303
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe processing that improves suggestions for a misspelt word. Examples described herein relate to processing executed by a client device or computing devices connected via a distributed network. In one example, an electronic document that comprises a misspelt word is accessed. An order of word suggestions for the misspelt word is determined based on an application of an exemplary word order suggestion model that analyzes the misspelt word based on: an analysis of an unformatted state of content within the electronic document and an analysis of formatting associated with content of the electronic document. Further aspects of an electronic document including file metadata may be analyzed by the word order suggestion model. A listing of suggestions for the misspelt word is provided, where an order of word suggestions included in the listing is determined based on the application of the word order suggestion model.

  • Patent number: 10560412
Abstract: Recipient verification converses computation resources, reduces network bandwidth and reduces the amount of user input required for generating email messages that include personal salutations that are matched to the recipient's proper title, style, or honorific. The email addresses are associated with a number of recipients, gender-specific markers in names within a salutation, internal and external data sources using the email addresses (e.g., an enterprise contact server, a social network), and historical salutations to determine whether the salutation in an email message is correct for a given recipient or group of recipients. In response to detecting that the sender has not used an appropriate salutation, recipient verification is operable to suggest an appropriate salutation to a user for approval, or to automatically substitute an appropriate salutation for an inappropriate salutation in various aspects.

  • Patent number: 10541046
Abstract: Creating genetic devices for use in micro-organisms or other biological systems is described. In an embodiment a computer system receives at a program editor, input specifying a plurality of part designs, at least some of which comprise part properties expressed as logical variables; and the input also specifies constraints on the logical variables. For example, the input is a computer program which specifies constraints on the logical variables which, for example, relate to properties of the DNA sequences such as reactions and biological behaviors. In an example, a compiler resolves the constraints using a database of genetic parts in order to generate candidate parts for the proposed genetic device. In examples the sequences of genetic parts are translated into reactions and simulated using an automated simulator and/or implemented in a living cell or other biological system. In embodiments the compiler also uses a database of reactions.

  • Publication number: 20190371539
Abstract: An electricity meter comprising an electrically-controlled electromechanical switch is disclosed. The electromechanical switch comprises a rotary actuator comprising a generally-cylindrical permanent magnet rotor having a central axis, a stator comprising a closed stator core and first and second opposite stator poles inwardly-projecting from the closed stator core towards the rotor and first and second coils wound around the first and second stator poles respectively. The electromechanical switch comprises a switch comprising at least one pair of first and second contacts wherein the first contact is movable. The electromechanical switch comprises mechanical linkage between the rotary actuator and the movable contact(s) configured such that rotation of the rotor from a first angular position to a second angular position causes the switch to be opened, and rotation from the second angular position to the first angular position causes the switch to be closed.

  • Patent number: 10239701
Abstract: A robotic material handling system has a controller that positions a nose conveyor surface proximate to an article pile, uses a robotic manipulator to robotically move one or more articles per operation onto the nose conveyor from the article pile, and receives a scan of the nose conveyor surface to detect respective locations of any articles received on the nose conveyor surface. The controller determines whether the respective locations of any scanned articles prevent immediate rearward conveyance by the two or more parallel conveyors at a first speed. If so detected, the controller causes at least one of the two or more parallel conveyors to operate at the first speed and at least another one of two or more parallel conveyors to operate at a second speed that is not equal to the first speed so that cartons do not jam or overwhelm a narrower rearward conveyor.

  • Patent number: 10162658
Abstract: One or more virtual processors can be added or removed from a virtual machine based on CPU pressure measured within the virtual machine. In addition to the foregoing, CPU pressure can also be used to determine whether to remove a virtual processor from a virtual machine, which may cause the computer system to consume less power. In the alternative, virtual processors can be parked and/or unparked in order to reduce the amount of power consumed by the virtual machine. In addition, virtual processors can be forcibly parked during a migration operation.

  • Publication number: 20180208373
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for deterring pets or other animals from biting or chewing into medication containers. In some embodiments, the invention consists of two or more conductive metal sheets or strips in layers around the side of the container, which are wired to complete a circuit when pressed by the force of an animal's bite or touched by an animal's tongue. In some embodiments, the sheets or strips are spaced or held apart so that a normal human grip would not have sufficient force to complete the circuit. In some embodiments, the device slides onto the medication container with a friction fit, and is removable for use on future containers. In some embodiments, the circuit includes a battery-powered alarm to deter the animal. In other embodiments, the circuit delivers a mild electrical shock to the animal's mouth or tongue through the metal strips or sheets.
