    Abstract: Technologies are presented herein in support of a system and method for performing fingerprint recognition. Embodiments of the present invention concern a system and method for capturing a user's biometric features and generating an identifier characterizing the user's biometric features using a mobile device such as a smartphone. The biometric identifier is generated using imagery captured of a plurality of fingers of a user for the purposes of authenticating/identifying the user according to the captured biometrics and determining the user's liveness. The present disclosure also describes additional techniques for preventing erroneous authentication caused by spoofing. In some examples, the anti-spoofing techniques may include capturing one or more images of a user's fingers and analyzing the captured images for indications of liveness.

    Abstract: This invention pertains to a novel method of single cell sequencing where cellular observations are paired directly with sequences. This method consists of a sequencing element with barcoded solid-phase PCR probes, cellular wells, and an optional cellular trap. Cells are loaded with reagents directly into wells or captured with cellular traps where the cellular wells are then lowered over the trapped cells. The sequencing element is then added. Cellular observations such as binding and affinity are then recorded. Cells are lysed and RT-PCR is performed to create a cDNA library that is then sequenced. Barcodes in the library allow sequences to be mapped back to individual wells. This method has applications from basic biology to personalized drug discovery to creating large databases for machine learning training sets.

A flag can indicate whether an image was encoded using the super-resolution mode at a first resolution. Responsive to the flag indicating that the image was encoded using the super-resolution mode, bits indicating an amount of scaling of the image are included. The image is decoded from the encoded bitstream to obtain a reconstructed image at the first resolution, and the reconstructed image is upscaled to a second resolution using the amount of scaling to obtain an upscaled reconstructed image. The second resolution is higher than the first resolution. Loop restoration parameters within the bitstream can used for look restoration filtering of the upscaled reconstructed image to obtain a loop restored image at the second resolution.
