  • Patent number: 8458598
Abstract: Example embodiments provide apparatuses and methods directed to a system for presenting customized advertisements and branding in conjunction with an audio-visual presentation, e.g., an online slideshow with audio enhancement, played on a player module on an access device. In example embodiments, the online slideshow includes a customized pre-roll advertisement, a customized post-roll advertisement, and/or a customized banner advertisement on the final slide of the slideshow. The system also might customize the GUI views displayed by the player module which plays the online slideshow and/or the player landing page on the CDN that hosts the player module. In example embodiments, the system might base the customization on branding (e.g., in support of “white labeling”), seasonal themes, and/or personalization.

  • Patent number: 8350487
Abstract: A switch circuit, particularly suitable for dimmer switches, detects zero-crossing or similar points in the supply and uses those to make predictions of future zero-crossing occurrences. The predicted occurrences may be used to time the operation of the switch itself to chop the supply which results in less variation in the power supplied (flicker if the switch circuit is operating a lamp) since the positions of the measured zero-crossings can be subject to noise but flicker is reduced if the switch is operated at times with respect to the true supply waveform. The predicted times may be obtained from a local oscillator having a period set by, for example, low pass filtering the period of the measured zero-crossings. The phase of the oscillator may be adjusted such that an error between the predicted and measured zero-crossings is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100274836
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and using a domain profile include identifying a status of a first page associated with a domain. The first page is retrieved and additional pages from the domain are identified based on hyperlinks from the first page. The status of the additional pages is identified and the hyperlinks are prioritized based on the status and/or a comparison with predetermined data. Content is extracted from the first page and selected pages from among the additional pages. The specific additional pages may be selected based on the prioritization. The retrieved content may be processed through a signature marker set to determine a contextual match. A purpose of the domain is determined according to the status of the first page, the status of the additional pages and results of the processing of the content. The domain profile can be displayed, stored, sent and/or searched to identify web sites or attributes of interest.

  • Patent number: 7325220
Abstract: Techniques are provided for automatically recommending a suitable programmable IC for a circuit design in response to receiving information about the circuit design. The information can be provided in any desired format. For example, specifications defining the circuit design can be provided in a spreadsheet. As another example, a user can select circuit components for the circuit design from a design library. The information describing the circuit design is compared with information about the features of available programmable ICs. A determination is then made as to which of the available programmable ICs is suitable for the circuit design.

  • Publication number: 20070021332
Abstract: The primary objective of the present invention is the development of new mutant forms of the Sm14 protein, for producing a greater production volume. The recombinant proteins here obtained were capable of providing protection against schistosome and fasciola infection. The level of protection of Sm14 recombinant proteins obtained in the present invention was similar to that reached in the parasite saline extract. The mutant proteins of the present invention have reached approximately 100% of renaturation after the heating at 80° C., different from wild forms of the Sm14 protein. Moreover, after storage for 2 months at 4° C., mutant proteins have shown smaller ?-structure loss than wild forms that have shown formation with random structure, as demonstrated by the circular dichroism analysis, indicating the success of mutations.
