  • Patent number: 11111961
Abstract: A compact, energy efficient air cooling system for a rotating shaft bearing module includes a Coanda surface having a periphery that smoothly curves from a radial center to axial alignment with a side of the module. A fan blade mounted on the shaft directs an airflow radially parallel and adjacent to the Coanda surface, causing the airflow to be bent by the Coanda effect from radial to axial, and to be directed along the side of the housing. Embodiments that can be applied to existing housings include a Coanda panel adjacent to the housing end face. A double suction fan blade can draw both external air and air from between the panel and the housing. In other embodiments the housing end face itself is a Coanda surface. A fan cover can have an inwardly curved periphery that forms a reduced gap or nozzle with the Coanda surface.

  • Patent number: 11062723
Abstract: An audio enhancement method includes receiving a first input signal representative of audio captured using an array of two or more sensors, the first input signal characterized by a first signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), with the audio being the signal-of-interest. The method also includes receiving a second input signal representative of the audio, the second input signal characterized by a second SNR. The second SNR is higher than the first SNR. The method further includes computing a spectral mask based on a frequency domain representation of the second input signal, and processing a frequency domain representation of the first input signal based on the spectral mask to generate one or more driver signals. The method further includes driving one or more acoustic transducers using the generated driver signals.

  • Patent number: 11026798
Abstract: Provided herein are implants and methods for producing implants. In at least one embodiment, the implants include sheet-based, triply periodic, minimal surface (TPMS) portions. According to one embodiment, the TPMS portions include a gyroid architecture that provides for improved osseointegration and mechanical performance over previous implants due to novel ratios of porosity to compressive strength, among other features. In one or more embodiments, the gyroid architecture is organized into unit cells that demonstrate anisotropic mechanical performance along an insertion direction. In various embodiments, the present methods include novel selective laser melting (SLM) techniques for forming the TPMS portions of implants in a manner that reduces defect formation, thereby improving compressive performance and other implant properties.

  • Patent number: 10956371
Abstract: In some examples, a system may receive, from a first user, a request to create a team folder from a folder associated with the first user. The request may indicate a requested storage quota from a team folder storage pool to associate with the team folder. The system may determine whether the requested storage quota is below a threshold amount corresponding to a profile for team folder creation associated with the first user. If the requested storage quota is below the threshold amount, the system may automatically create a shared file system for the team folder and allocate a quantity of storage from the team folder storage pool to the shared file system based on the requested storage quota. Alternatively, if the requested storage quota exceeds the threshold amount, the system may generate a communication to an administrator to request approval for creation of the team folder.

  • Patent number: 10897650
Abstract: Content manipulation uses cognitive states for vehicle content recommendation. Images are obtained of a vehicle occupant using imaging devices within a vehicle. The one or more images include facial data of the vehicle occupant. A content ingestion history of the vehicle occupant is obtained, where the content ingestion history includes one or more audio or video selections. A first computing device is used to analyze the one or more images to determine a cognitive state of the vehicle occupant. The cognitive state is correlated to the content ingestion history using a second computing device. One or more further audio or video selections are recommended to the vehicle occupant, based on the cognitive state, the content ingestion history, and the correlating. The analyzing can be compared with additional analyzing performed on additional vehicle occupants. The additional vehicle occupants can be in the same vehicle as the first occupant or different vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20200394428
Abstract: Vehicle interior object management uses analysis for detection of an object within a vehicle. The object can include a cell phone, a computing device, a briefcase, a wallet, a purse, or luggage. The object can include a child or a pet. A distance between an occupant and the object can be calculated. The object can be within a reachable distance of the occupant. Two or more images of a vehicle interior are collected using imaging devices within the vehicle. The images are analyzed to detect an object within the vehicle. The object is classified. A level of interaction is estimated between an occupant of the vehicle and the object within the vehicle. The object can be determined to have been left behind once the occupant leaves the vehicle. A control element of the vehicle is changed based on the classifying and the level of interaction.
