  • Patent number: 11913835
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe spectroscopy systems that use an unmodulated reference optical signal to mitigate noise, or for other advantages. In one embodiment, the unmodulated reference optical signal is transmitted through the same vapor cell as a modulated pump optical signal. As such, the unmodulated reference optical signal experiences absorption by the vapor, which converts laser phase noise to amplitude noise like the other optical signals passing through the vapor cell. In one embodiment, the unmodulated reference optical signal has an optical path in the gas cell that is offset (or non-crossing) from the optical path of the modulated pump optical signal. The unmodulated reference optical signal allows removal or mitigation of the noise on the other optical signal.

  • Patent number: 8149832
Abstract: An MPLS network is operated by pushing a plurality of MPLS shim headers onto a packet at network node. The packet is replicated to obtain a plurality of packets for transmission on a plurality of paths associated with a plurality of nodes, respectively. At least one MPLS shim header is popped from respective ones of the plurality of packets. The one or more MPLS shim headers that are popped correspond to at least one of the plurality of nodes that is not associated with one of the plurality of paths for which one of the plurality of packets comprising the one or more MPLS shim headers is destined for transmission. The plurality of packets is then transmitted on the plurality of paths, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20080103923
Abstract: As a company acquires commerce platforms the maintenance of integrations with payment service providers becomes an issue. The best thing is to keep the amount of developers needed to a minimum and reduce transaction costs to a minimum; therefore a centralized code base is best for a company. A gateway is described that allows a company to expose a web service based application programming interface (API) to the integrating commerce platforms. This allows for a simple standardized integration for all available payment methods with out the commerce platform about the payment service provider. This removes the complexity and redundant integrations that each platform needs to have with each of the payment service providers. An advanced arbitration engine allows for the gateway to decide what the best cost based payment service to use for the transaction.

  • Patent number: 7003438
Abstract: Adaptive noise reduction techniques used in devices that pass light from a laser through a quantum medium such as a rubidium vapor cell. A CPT frequency standard that employs the techniques has a first channel in which the laser light passes through the quantum medium and to a photodetector to produce a first signal and a second channel in which the light passes to a second photodetector without passing through the quantum medium to produce a second signal. The first and second signals are processed in a signal processor to produce an enhanced output signal in which the noise has been reduced. The signal processor implements noise predictor and noise remover. In a preferred embodiment, the noise predictor employs a FIR filter in which the coefficients are set in response to feedback from the enhanced output signal.

  • Publication number: 20060007931
Abstract: A multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) packet is processed by modifying the packet so as to push or pop a plurality of MPLS shim headers at a network node. An MPLS network is operated by pushing a plurality of MPLS shim headers onto a packet at network node. The packet is replicated to obtain a plurality of packets for transmission on a plurality of paths associated with a plurality of nodes, respectively. • Publication number: 20060007925
Abstract: A multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) packet stream is processed by establishing a packet communication context between a first node and a second node in an MPLS network. The context is an uncompressed version of an MPLS shim header. The MPLS shim header in each of the packets is compressed at the first node and the packets with the compressed MPLS shim headers are transmitted to the second node. The MPLS shim headers are decompressed at the second node using the context.

  • Patent number: 6666671
Abstract: A rotary pump for pumping compressible fluid comprising an eccentrically mounted rotor 20 and a stator 10. The stator 10 comprises a stator inner liner 80 that is free to rotate, driven directly or in response to rotation of the rotor 20 such that the relative velocity between the outer surface of the rotor 20 and the inner surface of the stator 10 is reduced. The vanes 40 are held at each end by sockets 90, 95 in the rotor 20 and stator 10. The vane 40 and socket 90, 95 coupling provides fluid sealing without liquid lubricant. Opposing solid lubricant and hard surfaces are used on contact surfaces between the elements.
